Yes please. I personally preferred the slower PvP of the first game, but the campaign we got in Titanfall 2 was incredible. Really with they would revisit that franchise.
Cyberpunk scratched that itch for me to a surprising degree. It's not a perfect match, but it felt closer to the original than the sequels did somehow.
The indie scene has focused on a lot of SNES/NES-style retro franchises, but I'd definitely like to see a return to PS2 aesthetic, especially now that we can render those scenes at 60fps.
I recently played Psuedoregalia, and it was a lot of fun.
They're both fantastic games, but the original (in which you go to Hamburg and a space station) felt more adventurous rather than the more grounded sequel (in which you go to the arctics and even more exotic locale: my hometown of Calcutta). Set it in the fictionalized disco-themed cold-war with the lead jet-setting around the world, and we're golden!
Also, only a single game, but: Arcanum. (At least this one's possible to buy on Gog and Steam...)
Arcanum supposedly had a sequel in the works at some point: Journey to the Center of Arcanum, and frankly, while I'd prefer to see other continents on that world explored a là Around the World in 80 Days, I'd still be sold on a hollow-earth adventure any day!

Splinter Cell, specifically picking up where Chaos Theory left off. Use it to showcase Unreal Engine 5 lighting and make it a proper, spectacular stealth game again with Spies v. Mercs multiplayer.
Oh man, just made my own comment on black and white, and I assumed I was the only one. Black & White 2 is still the best God game out there for me and it was so much fun.
Infamous. I don't know why the series just disappeared after Infamous Second Son, I feel like we could've gotten way more in that universe. While they're at it they should port Infamous 1 & 2 to modern consoles...
I would love to have them on PC. Honestly why Sony doesn't port all their old catalog (Sly Cooper, Jak & Daxter etc.) is beyond me. That would get them so much money.
Came to say inFamous, but specifically picking up after the evil ending in 2. The way that frames it could allow for character customization, and maybe even getting to choose your powerset.
It could even have multiplayer elements if that's where they wanted to go with it. Not sure how well PvP would work out, but co-op missions could be fun. But, it could work just fine without any of that
I liked Andromeda the game more than most but I really didn't like Andromeda the galaxy as a setting. I'd prefer to go back to the milky way with the species from the original games. Maybe set in the future after a major political upheaval or something.
Yea I'm not married to the Andromeda storyline either.
I personally think a mass effect prequel game about the first contact war (or whatever the war was between the humans and the Turians) would be the most interesting.
XCOM 2 came out in 2016. Let's get another XCOM game. Maybe humanity pushing into space and creating a colony which then comes under alien attack. You have to defend the colony, cut off from earth, and take out the alien menace.
I want to like Chimera Squad but every mission feels the same. I love the character based approach though. Also it was fun having aliens on the team for once.
Xcom 2 and Chimera Squad both had some annoying UI problems but luckily they were fixed (for the most part) by mods.
Gauntlet, specifically in the vein of Legends/Dark Legacy. Arrowhead did a reboot-ish of the original style games 10 years ago, let em put some of that Helldivers 2 money into this.
Ridge Racer - Namco have really done it dirty and would love to see it revived. Take it back to basics as a pure arcade racer without the Burnout nonsense.
Timesplitters - Just pleeeeaaase.
Alundra - It was a JRPG on PSX and nothing ever came after the second game. It had loads of potential.
SSX - I still love the stupidity of those early games. Would love to see a fun another snowboarding game that doesn’t take it self seriously.
In regards to SSX, after the success of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater remake, I am surprised that EA did not counter with a remake of SSX Tricky. I love how accessible the SSX controls are while still offering plenty of depth for people who want to optimize their runs. It is too bad that EA Sports seems to be focused on simulationist sports games (and live services).
I can across this a while back that might scratch some of the SSX itch for me - its an indy game that takes heavy inspiration from SSX. There's a basic demo, it plays quite well on Steam Deck. Though I wasn't a fan of the controls, so hoping the dev changes them or allows them to be changed.
I want a game in the Black Marsh. And I want it to be weird like Morrowind where I can kill anybody and become a god (from absolutely nothing).
Like, in Morrowind you're literally not important. Even the Nerevarine hopefuls die and they just find another. Oblivion you're given instructions (by the Emperor, IIRC). Skyrim you're the Dragonborn pretty much immediately.
The Morrowind expansion for Elder Scrolls Online could have been the greatest thing ever, if they had just straight remade TES3 in the ESO engine, following the failed Neverine that literally existed in lore during the era ES was set in. Instead they just released an expansion set in morrowind with a story that had nothing to do with tes3's storyline.
I really wanted to love ESO, and I'm delighted that they'e actually using the weirder lore sometimes, but it never felt like it rewarded my exploration. Like I never learned aything new about a place by finding stuff in it.
Outrun. The last one we had, Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast, was fucking awesome. I literally bought that for every system they released it on. It’s one of my most played games.
I’d absolutely love a new Outrun in that same vein. There’s been a few half decent clones over the years, but none match both the gameplay, proper branching paths and overall vibes.
SEGA has long since stopped selling it because they no longer have the Ferrari license for the cars. But as a car guy, I’ve easily got dozens of suggestions what to replace them with. Ferrari’s are nice… but I’d also love an Outrun with Lamborghini, Porsche or a whole pack of Japanese cars like NSX, AE86, RX7, Miata…
I am aware of that excellent video, yes. And indeed I’ve played literally every game he shows there. I really like some of them, but none have that charm that actual Outrun has.
Wipeout. They can continue from Omega, it was great fun. Formula Fusion is a really cool spiritual successor by many of the original minds, but it's a little lacking in content.

I was actually slightly put off by how tightly it looked like it was imitating the first couple of Wipeout games, like the UI being almost identical and a bunch of the teams being the Wipeout ones with the serial numbers filed off. Like they're unwilling to try their own ideas, you know? If it's so similar, well I can still play the old games. I assume you feel differently?
In a similar vein to another commenter wanting a pre-Paradise style Burnout; I’d like another NFS:U entry, but honestly am so over ‘open world’ racing games.. give me a good ol’ fashioned menu any day of the week!

Watch Dogs. It's without a doubt my favorite video game franchise of all time and it saddens me that there hasn't been any sign of a new game being in development at all. I'd love if the game went back to its roots by following the first entries formula, but that's just a minor preference and at this point I'd take anything.
Twisted Metal: Black II please. Or even one that's a little more of a dark comedy like TM2. I just know I hated everything after Black. (Why the fuck were we racing instead of fighting sometimes?!)

Yeah, it is, but it is fundamentally different from MechAssault. MechWarrior is a simulator and MechAssault is an arcade shooter. Its like the difference between Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon, theyre both fun but they're also very different games.
Are you the only person that likes Daikatana? I thought that game was pretty universally panned. I haven't played it myself, mostly because all I've heard is how bad it is.
Remaking a good game is stupid. Remake the bad games and give them another chance at success.
I would definitely want a reboot of Daikatana more than a direct continuation. Daikatana has a lot of cool ideas that just weren't realistically achievable when it came out, but certainly now are pretty easy to implement with modern development tools. The game has been "off the market" so to speak for so long that making a sequel would be stupid compared to just rebooting it entirely.
The Brandish games have such a good soundtrack, I especially love the one in Dark Revenant! It's also such a cool concept, you could easily make a modern game with that type of premise.
Master of Orion I loved I and II. The third apparently bombed and reboots have failed.
Sim City I mean the real Sim city as Maxis would have made it. Not a cash grab, not a mobile game, not a "city painter" where any simulation takes a back seat to decorating with DLC assets.
Super Mario RPG no those other, spiritual successors do not count. They are fine games on their own but not the same.
Lost in Blue not the fanciest games, but I enjoyed them. There are plenty of modern games in the genre, but I haven't found one that quite fits...
As written, this is a tough one to answer. I'm well served in most genres bar a few, and I probably wouldn't want to see new entries from the people who made the old ones. For instance, I miss stealth games and Splinter Cell, but I wouldn't want Ubisoft to make it. I would love to see a new Metal Arms, but Blizzard (and now also Microsoft) owns that one. I miss racing games like Burnout and F-Zero, but I wouldn't trust EA or Nintendo to make a successor that makes me happy. So really, I think I want new stuff that's more of a spiritual successor type of deal.
I've been wanting a new, proper Splinter Cell for years. Michael Ironside is cancer free now and still alive for a couple more years (hopefully). I dream of Sam Fischer getting a final send-off with the correct voice actor. "One final job" with him old and grey. But yeah, Ubisoft wouldn't make it right, sadly.
Definitely this. It seems MVs with a leveling system either aren't popular, or are too hard to balance. Plus there's the giant inventory of weapons and gear that would probably be too time-consuming to create for most game devs.

What's insane to me is that they are still regularly updating the game. How they can do that with 1.5 monthly players is a mystery to me. But props to them for sticking with a game for so long.
Jazz Jackrabbit. Poor fella's been abandoned for over 2 decades now. Really fun platformer, a 3rd game was in early works, but Epic ditched it to focus entirely on Unreal
Star Wars Jedi Knight series. As is, there's Dark Forces (Star Wars Doom), Jedi Knight (Star Wars Quake 2), Jedi Outcast (awesome) and Jedi Academy (good, but JO is overall more polished). Thank fuck the years of EA-exclusive Star Wars games is over. There are several other SW game series that deserve to make a return (Republic Commando, X-Wing/Tie-Fighter, KotOR), but my first vote would go for Jedi Knight
Honestly 5 had a lot going for it. It removed radio tower puzzles. It way cleaned up on absurd collectaton mechanics of 4, which had gone way too overboard. The survialist bunkers were a neat mechanic to replace a lot of collectaton stuff. I actually enjoyed the side games like the fishing. The gunplay and the customization was iterated on and improved. The editor where you could make your own missions and post them online was really cool (I made a lot of super complicated stealth missions).
The vibe of the game was pretty good, and the villains were engaging enough. It's really just the main plot that falls to pieces and only at the very end does it become impossible to ignore how dumb it is.
I think that in mechanical design, 5 is a straight improvement on 3 and 4.
A bit of an obscurer one, but I would love another Black & White, based on Black & White 2. It's a god game where you control a giant bipedal creature, control a city (or several) and battle against other gods through architecture and combat. You can train your creature to do things you prefer and expand your influence however you like.
It had a good/evil morality system, is completely winnable by being a pacifist, and has a really cute style of humor.
No other God game has quite scratched that itch and it's still fun to this day almost 20 years later.
And it's the perfect fit for a VR game as well. The top down towering from the heavens over your domain would make the island feel like a table top game.. And you could give your pet proper scritches.
The Crusader series (No Remorse, No Regret) could have been built upon, with its famously cheesy live-action cutscenes.
The Quarantine series disappeared after its second installment, Road Warrior. Come to think of it, most mainstream vehicular combat games went away, like the Interstate series.
The Discworld adventure games (1, 2, Noir) were famously convoluted, but they did a pretty good job of adapting Pratchett's world into video games.
Finally I would have liked to play the initially planned sequels to Advent Rising. I have (probably rose-tinted) fond memories of that game, but hey, you asked.
A lot of people will disagree, but I loved Star Fox Adventures. It was easily my favorite Star Fox game.
3D Rayman games, the only one I played was Rayman 2, so that's all I can go off of.
BIONICLE, the game to the movie was a bit janky, but so much fun!
Pokémon Rumble: I remember only liking the first one (didn't play the second), and really disliking Rumble U. There's a mobile game now apparently, but...no thanks.
A very obscure one: Onslaught, from the Wii Shop. A first person sci-fi shooter with Wii motion controls, playing on an alien planet with giant bug creatures. Quite reminiscent of Helldivers or Starship Troopers.
Asura's Wrath: I think a remake would be nice, not sure if there's much space for a sequel, the ending fit quite nicely.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: I'm gonna count this as its own franchise separate from the other Xenoblade games, and a remaster, remake or sequel would be amazing.
Bonus: Borderlands 2 had a good setup for a sequel, an incredible villain and such great characters. I'd love to see where they'd take their stories, like Maya & Krieg. Should be about time for Borderlands 3, I'm sure it'd be great! (FUCK WHYYYYY)
Yeah, that last one was sarcastic. They kinda fucked up the story, writing and characters. Villains were ass, writing for most beloved characters was basically a character assassination, Maya & Krieg never even met again, just everything that could go wrong, did go wrong.
Gameplay was great, but I hated everything else so much that I uninstalled after 5h (with close to a thousand hours spread across the rest of the franchise).
NFL 2K. NFL 2K5 was so good and scared EA so much, it led to the EA/NFL exclusivity deal and the death of the entire football game genre for the last few decades now.
Of course there is always OpenTTD, which has by far exceeded the original, but I would just like to see a modern game (not necessarily in terms of graphics) with the same vibe. Transport Fever and all the other variants never quite achieved the same depth and complexity.
Doubt the top down GTA game would ever be made again. Last one was GTA Chinatown Wars and it sold terribly. Started on DS, and was ported to PSP, and now on iOS and Android.
Spectrobes, spent a ton of time in all 3 games as a kid. Apparently the 3rd game sold pretty poorly even though I would argue it was probably the best of the 3. It had just about everything one would want from a pokemon rpg, it even allowed for 2 players! Super upset that Disney killed it :(
New entry should absolutely follow the footsteps of the 3rd game (origins). Only thing I would hope that is improved is some of the terrain paths were kinda narrow and hard to accurately maneuver the horse-like mount around. That super frustrated me as a kid as it was much faster than walking, but all the time you ended up losing from getting caught on terrain, having to dismount/dismiss the mount, turn around, then resummon/remount made it more efficient to just walk.
The combat was fun enough on the 3rd, but my absolute favorite part was the excavation of fossils. Trying to go as fast as I could while also being super careful to not damage the fossil and having that linked to better stats for spectrobes was SO much better than breeding/catching new pokemon to me. It felt much more engaging than hoping for good rng.
If they won't make a new one, the least they should do is remaster the games for switch. Which they also probably wouldn't have to do much for the remaster as I would argue even the original version looks the same/better graphically than the latest pokemon releases for switch.
I didn't play the one on the Wii, but from what I've seen, I think I'd prefer a mix of all 3 games. I feel like the combat had slightly more depth on the DS games, but Origins did more in 3 dimensions and had a Spectrobe follow you in the overworld.
I don't remember much about the combat from the ds games other than the enemy ai could be cheesed by running around the perimeter of the battle arena while waiting for abilities/geos to cool down. If they had a better ai or higher difficulty I would take any of the combat options though!
Edit: found old ds and first game, played for a bit and the combat is alright, would definitely benefit from a lock onto enemy feature, and better enemy ai. The circling the perimeter works even better than I remember and allows for easy battles. The movement in combat also has some drift to it which I remember disliking alot back in the day. Also the using geos as an ultimate weapon in battle is still satisfying, upon using one you get a sick cut scene of the ultimate spectrobes you used and brings back lots of memories of using them in tough battles to turn the tide! Forgot about how you level 3 separate stats which each can add levels to the spectrobes which made building specific stat based spectrobes super engaging. Also the incubator rooms (4 of them!) allowed you to feed the minerals you excavated to the spectrobes. Also the excavation mini game is lightyears ahead of what pokemon implemented in Gen 4 and way more engaging! Using the ds mic to blow away debris brought a smile to my face all these years later. This honestly should have been the pokemon killer it was made out to be.
I’d love to see a modern take on Cannon Fodder, as well as another entry in the Desert/Urban/Soviet/Nuclear Strike series.
Lastly, there was a very fun demo/mod to Sensible Soccer for the Amiga that set the match between UK and Germany, and replaced the ball with a bomb that would periodically explode and eliminate any nearby players. I’d live to see a modern-day version of this, honestly - just some goofy fun!
..and yes, I am fully aware of just how old this makes me all sound.
For a modern Desert Strike check out Cleared Hot on Steam. It's not out yet but it looks promising and it's by a guy who wanted something like Desert Strike. Funnily enough it came up in a similar thread on Reddit a while back and I added it to my wishlist there and then.

There's a fair amount of failed mascots that had small followings or good ideas badly executed. Instead of rehashing the already beloved, let's see some genuine attempts to redeem some of the benchwarmers.
That's why I mentioned insomniac, or another dev of that caliber. It's a pipe dream, but it's fun to think about. Doesn't even have to be Bubsy. Imagine rockstar taking a crack at Glover. What's your dream team of failed mascot and proven dev?
Mercenaries. Made by dice would be killer, would be a great opportunity for them to explore different mechanics and maybe even inspire a better battlefield.
I was just thinking about Splinter Cell the other day. It's crazy how every single third person game turned into a "souls-like". It seems like we used to get such better diversity in game genres.
i want the Just Cause series to continue on from the second installment but instead of focusing on the movement, focus on the world building and setpieces. the plot in JC2 is completely batshit insane and ends in a fistfight atop a speeding ICBM. they kinda just forgot about that part in the sequels in favor of adding tornado guns or whatever.
The first game plays so much better than the 2nd! Never finished the 2nd game, now that I think about it.
Another thing that I have a (possibly fake) memory from the 1st game is, near the start, with those carnivorous egg-looking-plants and farting peaches, I remember once managing to get one of those plants to go up right as the peach farted, which triggered a small event and turned the plant into a mini thing-item to collect. Maybe it was only in the demo and scrapped for the full game?
There hasn't really been a good vehicular combat game in awhile, like Vigilante 8 or Twisted Metal
I also noticed there haven't really been any good couch party games besides Mario party; think Crash Bash, Pokemon stadium, fusion frenzy, and the like.
Arc the Lad in the art of the originals set after III. To be clear, Twilight of the Spirits would still be canon, but it's also 1,000 years in the future.
The first Deception game by Tecmo. A pretty basic game in concept: Invaders come in your castle, you set up traps, lure them into the traps. But- Something about the limiting view of first-person, combined with the poorly lit castle, chilling music, and dark story tone has never been replicated. Add on how you could customize your castle with extra hallways and rooms with special attributes, capture invaders to make your own monsters, or even use masks to change the way invaders react to you... mmm, now I want to play it again.
I tried playing the second, third, and Trapt, but everything after the first game switched to a more action-oriented third person view and started to shy away from the heaven/hell connection.
I wouldn't mind if it was a game outside the Deception IP. I just want the atmosphere back.
I own Deception 4 on PS4, didn't know what the original was like. I think there's a lot of cartoony appeal in luring people into elaborate multi-stage death traps, but it's tricky to garner appeal out of more than just a lot of animation work for each variety of trap.
I really want a Condemned 3 that wraps up Ethan vs SKX. They never got a proper final face-off in 2, and (spoilers) since SKX has joined the Oro and Ethan's unlocked his yelling power or whatever, it would be nice to have that loose end tied up.
Sonic Riders, the currently dead Sonic racing spin-off. Don't have any experience with the third entry since I've never used a kinect, but building/branching off of Zero Gravity would be amazing.
Tabula Rasa. It was a first/third person sci fi mmo shooter/rpg with craftable mechs, It lasted for a bit more then a year before it shut down, and no private servers have ever been created.
Gundam : Universal Century Online. Picture Star Wars Galaxies with combined arms mecha warfare. Start on foot, buy a jetpack, mine some ore, built a tank/jet/mech, fight in the war. It lasted about as long as tabula rasa before it shut down. It currently has no private server.
Firefall. First/third person sci fi mmo shooter/rpg with craftable mech suits. bla blah, shut down no private server ever created.
tl/dr: I want a new mech mmo. Or even just to be able to play my old favorite mecha mmos.
I'd really like to see another time-based drama similar to The Last Express. It had a lot of time-based events where you could run into particular passengers of the train in the hallways, and gained a strong sense of physical "presence" as people pushed past you in the halls using detailed rotoscope animations.
The Invisible Hours comes close - it's non-interactive, basically letting you play as a ghost cameraman watching the mystery.
Not "revived" since it's still going, but I wish the mega man series would modernize. It's 2024, I get side scroller was megaman's thing but how I would love a modern, ratchet and Clank style platformer/open world where you go to different parts of the city to fight the different robots.
But Capcom and most Japanese game companies are insanely opposed to modernizing and of making their games look current. Graphics wise they're always outdated
Panzer Dragoon. I only played and finished Panzer Dragoon Orta for the XBox when it came out. I tried the included original game, but I had a hard time telling depth and perception with the old graphics.
But my answer to this every time is Red Faction (1, specifically. While I did enjoy Guerrilla, I want to see a throw back to more fully destructible environments on next gen tech).
I've got probably 9,000 hours on different variants of the Civ franchise over my lifetime, assuming I played Civ V and VI the same amount as the other four. I've got 1,600 hours in Factorio and probably the same amount in KSP.
My point being that some of us kinda do want the same shit over and over.
I want to see an adaptation of Naked Lunch as a video game that starts out as a hard-boiled neo-noir detective game, becoming a surreal waking nightmare much like the book, and ending with becoming an endless randomly-generated flight from the cops as you evade pursuit for accidentally killing your wife during a game of William Tell.
