I don't even know why I both with Reddit anymore
  • Honestly you hit the nail on the head with the "leftist 4chan" bit. I'm not someone who chases up votes or anything, but I do like when I see my comments resonate with other people and get the "agreement vote." That doesn't happen here.

Especially in the gaming communities of Lemmy the users are so hateful towards literally any upcoming "AAA+" game that gets posted about. Like you can't even say you think something looks fun without a bunch of people just coming to downvote you or give you shit for daring to announce that you're excited for something new.

  • Netflix Co-founder Becomes One of the Biggest Democratic Donors to Call for Biden to Step Aside
  • I don't understand why so many people, right now in the last week and a half, are suddenly saying "let's replace Biden" after both parties pushed their candidate of choice through the primaries, and when we're literally just months away from the actual election.

Like, are we seriously that dumb? Are there really that many election disinformation bots running around Lemmy? What the fuck is happening?

ETA: nvm, didn't realize the primaries happen so close to the election. Disregard my comment then.

  • Monthly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing?
  • I'm replaying Jedi Survivor on my PC because my first save glitched out and wouldn't give me bounties. So I'm going through NG+ trying to get them all, because they're the only things I'm missing to make it 100%.

It's still pretty fun. The customization is pretty great, the story is good, the acting is well done, the combat is fine (just make sure you don't get swarmed); it's just a really solid Star Wars game.

  • Funny bad games reviews
  • True, but he does show enough of the game to give you an idea of how it would play.

I got started playing Palworld from his video on it, and I got Hydroneer because of him too.

  • what yall think is the most wildest subreddit you even been to
  • Photoshopped pictures of women, but they were turned into horrifying monstrosities. Like some might be missing arms, or have six of them, or their arms and legs might be switched, or they have no head and their face is in their torso.

    Weird shit like that.

  • what yall think is the most wildest subreddit you even been to
  • Not the wildest, but r/testtubebabes was pretty fuckin wild. It was about 50/50 whether the posts were genuine or just messing around.

One of the worst ones I ever saw was r/nomorals; videos of straight up assaults, murders, and all kinds of violence that actually made me feel sick. I'm glad it got banned.

  • A Lego game about building with Legos, not a world with Legos in it? Yes please
  • I'll attest that Lego Worlds is probably what someone wants when they want an entire interactable Lego world to play with, but I wish they had spent more time cooking with the game.

The parts list is tiny compared to what actually exists, you can only rotate on the x axis, and you can't make your own vehicles or decorations; you have to rely on what's already in the game, which is a lot, but still.

  • Nat20 Saber "Custom"

    !

I have a cool job that lets me travel around to different conventions, and I've been seeing these Nat20 Sabers folks at pretty much all of them. I finally decided to check them out, and it's actually pretty sweet!

At their booth, they have a "forge" set up with different pieces so you can make your own custom hilt, then they put the electronics and all inside. The blade is extremely durable and can take a beating. They had a sign reading "free lightsaber battles" so people could mess around and try them out, and they encouraged them to hit them pretty hard.

It has (I think) 9 different sound fonts, motion controls, color change, accelerometer so it reacts when you move it even just a bit which is actually very nice, clashing effects, blaster deflecting effects, a drag effect for some theatrical moments (like you're dragging it along the wall or floor), and saber locking effects.

Overall it honestly just feels really nice, and it's decently lightweight as well so you can really swing it.

    My Headcanon For the Arkhamverse

So I've been playing through all the Arkham games lately, and I had an interesting thought about the whole Arkhamverse as a storyline.

I think the entire game series is based (loosely) on The Killing Joke story, with other major events, references, and storylines lifted from other Batman comics. I just think TKJ was used as a basis for the games' world.

We see Joker's beginning with his flashback at the end of Arkham Origins, which is almost identical to his TKJ origin, as well as him crippling Barbara in that flashback during Arkham Knight (right down to the clothes he's wearing). The overall dark tone of the games lend to this theory, as well as Joker being shown just how sadistic he can be.

    What do you think?

[SUGGESTION] Add a "Jump to Comments" Button

If it's at all possible. I just find it kind of annoying to have to scroll through super long posts just to get to the comments. Review threads for newly released games in some of the gaming communities are what prompted this idea lol.

Edit: what the hell is going on with that account that keeps spamming nonsense?

So I like to use Xbox controllers (doesn't matter if it's first- or third-party) because I like the layout, it's just comfortable to me. However I've noticed that on all my controllers in the past few years, the left thumb stick will start to "give out" over the course of a couple months. For instance I'll be pushing it forward all the way, but it won't register for some reason and my character will only move a little bit. Sometimes wiggling it a bit will fix it, sometimes it doesn't. And it's not like I'm squeezing the hell out of the controller or mashing the stick constantly; in fact it's made me try to be more delicate with my controllers, even though I'm just playing the games normally.

Is it just how controllers are, or am I just getting the shit end of the stick?

People Who Don't Wear Deodorant or Seemingly Bathe Regularly, Why?

Like, I travel around for work and I've met plenty of people from all backgrounds.

Why is there a demographic of people who don't seemingly bathe regularly, or at the very least wear something to cover up their BO? I could understand if it's an allergy, or even religious reasons (though the people I've met that smell bad are usually you're average American young adult man) but recently (like in the past week, recently) I've met a concerning number of people who don't seem to wear any kind of deodorant or possibly don't even bathe regularly; it's starting to become an issue for me, as I don't even want to interact with them when I can smell them walking up from 3+ feet away yet I need to for work.

Does anyone have any possible insight?
