A bill to add a carving of President Donald Trumpto Mount Rushmore has been introduced by a MAGA politician.
Florida Representative Anna Paulina Luna announced the bill Tuesday calling for Trump to be added to the South Dakota monument with the message: "Let's get carving."
Florida's best and brightest they sent to DC to represent themselves, Anna Paulina Luna, the same certified genius who tried to expunge the Trump impeachments for extorting a foreign leader to influence US elections by withholding Congress approved resources, and inciting a failed insurrection and disenfranchising American citizens from their votes in federal elections.
I think it is a fantastic idea because they will hire a shit contractor who is completely incapable and they will either do a laughably bad job or they will just take the money and run, whatever happens is gonna be hilarious...
Nah, this is Trump we’re talking about… They’ll do a mediocre job, and then Trump will refuse to pay them. Because for some reason, these idiots always believe they’ll be the exception and never demand payment up front.
As much as I like the thought, I've been to Mt. Rushmore and I don't think vandalizing it would be easily achieved. Maybe with a drone or paintball gun - the first time - after that I think they'd be prepared. There is national parks apparatus surrounding it IIRC.
You think they’re gonna not defund the National parks service? They’re basically the “don’t ruin nature” police, and the people in charge now don’t fucking care about nature.
Mount Rushmore was intentionally done to insult Lakota/Dakota people anyway. The “Six Grandfathers” were sacred, and Mount Rushmore was intentional defacement and sacrilege.
I mean this won't happen, but I kinda threw up in my mouth a little bit.
The one thing keeping me sane is the realization that that old crusty piece of shit will be dead soon, and I'll never have to see their rapist face again.
So a single sycophantic congresswoman from Florida introduces a bill with no budget, no analysis on its feasibility, and no widespread interest from the Republican base; a bill that hasn't even gone to committee, yet alone be eligible for a vote; and you think that equals "they have the votes for it"?
Jesus fucking Christ, take a few minutes to learn just the bare fucking basics of how the government works. There's a Schoolhouse Rock video that even explains it nicely in song form.
ANY congressperson can submit a bill for anything. It doesn't take much at all. Tomorrow a congressperson could submit a bill saying that nails are illegal and all meat products are to be replaced by stone figurines of Marie Antoinette. It doesn't mean anything! Congresspeople create this kind of crap literally all the time! It's not worth talking about until it has slightly more than a snowball's chance in hell of having support.
They do not have the votes. There's still the filibuster in the senate and unless they are willing to blow that up (they likely aren't) this bill will be dead in the senate.
...silly shit like this is a distraction - shit like the email that just went out to every federal employee encouraging them to resign is where the potential for damage is. Today.
Is he also going to let Elon build a secret base inside where he can fly inside with a big ass car plane while JD Vance sucks Elons cock to prove he's loyal? And they're all puppets?
Well one, the GOP has control of both chambers, so nothing that gets introduced, no matter how dumb, is safe from passing through votes from both. Especially as none of them want to directly piss off Trump.
And two, even if this has zero chance of passing, it's still a beyond absurd performative piece of legislation playing up the already inflated ego of a megalomaniac who is surrounded by sycophants and brown nosing opportunists constantly seeking to further puff up the already inflated orange head of an objectively weird, stupid, selfish, hateful criminal for the chance to earn some bit of his favor and maybe absorb some of his power and influence in the process. If that sort of openly unethical and cultish behavior from a sitting congressperson is not worth getting "excited" about, what is?
