It was a pretty crude way to castrate. It was done that way a few hundred years back. I've heard that expression before. The first time was when I was really young. The tin snips were very sharp the and the turpentine sealed the wound by chemically burning the flesh. I'm pretty sure its what they did to some pigs when I was very young. Even the recent shooter wasn't some longtime liberal or even a leftist. He was just some dude who was fed up and likely suffered various mental pain which is why they caught him with all the possible incriminating evidence they needed. He had no true intention of slipping away, he somehow convinced himself that what he did would give him enough public support for change (regardless of whether or not that will actually happen).
