While I love the background, the cluttered mass of icons makes my eye twitch. A modicum of organization, please.
79 0 ReplyThe only perfect background is to disable all icons and keep it black
39 0 ReplyOkay, Patrick Bateman
23 0 ReplyI see a background
And I want it painted black
No icons anymore
I want my desktop black
6 0 ReplyI've used and enjoyed that kind of setup a while back, but my new favourite is to have something that rotates different backgrounds. macOS has their dynamic wallpapers which you can set to cycle through different ones on a regular basis, which I really like. I still don't like having any icons, though.
On Android, I use Muzei to get a different artwork as my background every day. It's also very nice.

Same. I would go insane with a desktop like that.
18 0 ReplyThe icons made your eyes twitch, but the Vista didn’t?
11 0 ReplyThe lesser of problems, I'd wager. Managed to bypass Vista... and 8. shudders
5 0 ReplyYou're sure it's not 7? I loved the glass that 7 had.

Hah, as if you'd ever see the icons behind the millions of things I have running
3 0 ReplyYeah what is this 2006?

Bonus point if you replace Chrome with Mozilla!

firefox, and get an adblocker on it
49 1 ReplyIt looks like he has chrome pinned to his task bar in the bottom left.
36 0 ReplyYou cannot make enough shortcuts for the elderly.
19 0 ReplyYou can, but a desktop composed of entirely shortcuts to chrome I suspect wouldn't be enough.

There is also a second desktop icon in the upper left, in the 4th column.

I'd nearly forgotten all about Vista.
19 1 ReplyThis looks like windows 7
7 2 ReplyThe start button whose circle is larger than the start menu gives it away that it’s probably Windows Vista

Cool picture. But Chrome? Why?
16 0 ReplyThis meme is old as fuck, he has GTA SA and windows 7
25 0 ReplyGTA SA is dope even today :D
5 1 ReplyNot all the pointing people are old memes.

It's like a "water this way" sign in the middle of a desert. The better solution is to get Librewolf and replace the icon with a Chrome one.
4 0 ReplyGood way to end up with passwords written on sticky notes

If you really wanted to have a good time, you could screen-shot everything as is and make that the desktop, then put all the real shortcuts into a folder on the desktop anywhere and watch the fun ensue
Eta: for extra entertainment, don't forget to hide the Taskbar
9 1 ReplyThe shortcut was at the tip of the penis
5 0 ReplyI understood that reference.

Instead of fixing the symptom, maybe you could address the underlying problem of all that clutter on the desktop. ….or pin it somewhere it won’t be encroached by new files
10 3 ReplyIt's pinned to the taskbar. If my own father is anything to go by, trying to clean up their desktop is a futile and temporary effort.
16 0 ReplyThere are at least twice as many icons s on his desktop as on mine!
4 0 Reply
It is pinned to the taskbar
Also the first icon in column 4
10 0 ReplyAll of those files look very important and need to stay where they are...

Didn't think about icons being on a grid, eh? Whoever made this had to turn it off to place the Chrome icon there. Amateur move
6 0 ReplyCan you share the background?
6 0 ReplyHere - you should be able to download the full res by clicking "Download the original image"
5 0 ReplyThank you! I don't know what I'll put in the middle yet, that's such a big decision

4 0 ReplyThat's awesome - nice work!
3 0 ReplyYou use desktop icons?
2 0 ReplyNever use your desktop to store shortcuts, unless they are very temporary, and then clear up often.
You have a taskbar and start menu to organise and find everything you need, you can even do startup applications.
7 8 ReplyMy dude what do you think a desktop is for?
8 0 ReplyWallpapers, obviously. And cool widgets.
6 1 ReplyKeeping what you're working on available.
It's not a fileing system
