I agree, but I think that they all share the something of the same clown quality.
I actually liked Rogan on News Radio (90s sitcom) where he played an idiot-savant repairman who could fix anything electronic, but everyone acknowledged that it would burn the place down in 48 hours if left as is. For reference, Andy Dick was also on that show. He looked competent next to Andy Dick, but not nearly as funny.
I thought Rogan really found his calling on Fear Factor, where he just urged people to eat maggot infested cheese. If that show had gone on, how different would our world look like today??
We also watched the Apprentice, but I remember it as a comedy with Trump as the butt of the joke. Did no one else get that joke?
Musk - crap on a cracker. I've heard a lot of comments on how his "pedo guy" comment changed peoples' perception of him, but holy crap. It should have come even a little bit before that. There were about a dozen children trapped in a cave in SE Asia with "hours to days" to survive, if they had even made it that long. This cave had something like a14 inch vertical choke point and muddy conditions throughout.* What does this lackwit do? This absolute knob releases footage of a prototype submarine in a swimming pool in California, being guided along by human divers and says "EMERGENCY RESPONDERS STOP WORK. I'M YOUR ONLY HOPE."
Point being: This moron does not understand what a cave is. Probably coupled with "and no one is going to tell him that."
Understand that trump is doing this: speaking directly to his base, because he assumes he's going to lose the election, and he's trying to lay the groundwork for Civil War 2. There is no other explanation for him to only be speaking to his base for the last 4 or 5+ interviews. He's not going after undecideds or urban voters. He's already lost in his head, so he's going to rile up his base and convince them to try another Jan 6th, but this time, with more prep and planning involved.
Right, I don't disagree that this is all he's ever done, but he also attempted a coup last time as well. That's basically what I'm saying.
He's doing it out in the open right now. Absolutely no political strategist would have ever cancelled the 20/20 interview, or any of the town halls he's cancelled lately, 2 weeks out from election day. It's batshit insane. He's not even campaigning in swing states right now. Musk and Tucker and others are doing that for him.
He's speaking to his base nonstop, because:
He's a narcissist and needs the attention
He's laying the groundwork for his next coup, just like he did the first one, except way more in the open and well ahead of time.
Yep. I had enjoyed the podcast early, when it was aliens and comedians and good old government conspiracies. Not so much the mma stuff, whatever.
Then it got big and he started enjoying the smell of his own farts ( or something, allegedly). And stopped using the dmt. And it went downhill in a random walk down.
Them came spotify and i knew it was all crap from there on out. A few episodes here and there that make it to youtube ive watched , but meh.
Joe Rogan was never going to let Kamala Harris on the Podcast. He knows which side his bread is buttered on, and that would piss off his base. All he cares about at this point is money. He gave up the "I'm a socially liberal populist" bullshit after 2016 basically.
I would be surprised if he let one candidate come one and refused the other. Rogan has worked pretty hard not to appear openly partisan. He also wants the views. He could pull in a shitload of viewers with a Harris interview, just like Fox did with their interview.
Basically, yeah Rogan is clearly a piece of shit but his bread isn't buttered the same way other right wing influencers are.
Idk, it's been a looong time since I listened to his show, but I always got the impression that a good performance there just meant smoking a bowl and telling some crude jokes... I think she'll come across as presidential, which is exactly what that audience doesn't want
I am constantly dismayed when I see Rogan on he top of the charts every week. It's worse when I hear my generally reasonable and Democrat friends say they listen and that he's funny
I don't even give him the time of day anymore. The moment he comes on I just shut it down. I don't want to ever hear his stupid voice pondering if transgender aliens butt raped him cause his ass hurts so bad again.
Why the fuck would I want to hear a punch drunk future dementia patient interview people? The hawk tuah girl has ten times the charm he does and her only claim to fame is spitting on dicks.
These kind of headlines really make us look like crackpot to the right. Joe Rogan is not one of the worst people ever.
He's a self interested comedian and Podcaster who platforms people indiscriminately. The conservatives have made themselves available to him, and he has shows to make. He has plenty of liberal guests that don't get confrontational or hostile interviews and most of his personal politics are pretty liberal.
Rush Limbagh, Alex Jones, Bill O'Reilly were all actually conservative right wing monsters.
Yeah, though in his (incredibly lukewarm) defense he seemed more interested in the batshit crazy aliens-control-the-government theories than the more pedestrian conservative stuff, although the line between the two has greatly narrowed over the years.
He's making entertainment. But he also pushed back on him alot, or at least he used to. He really lets people go off though because it's a 3 hour talk. He doesn't have to keep them on track or concise. There are lots of episodes where crackpots come on and the reaction isn't "this guy is right".
It is a really long format show to watch and actually get context for if you don't enjoy him at all. Too many people consider him a monster just from snippets or articles, which is why I wish people would chill with the hyperbolic claims.
He's friendly with people who are nice to him and help him provide good content for his audience. Unfortunately, the more he's villianized the more that becomes exclusively right wing shills. He's not just gonna stop the show because the people willing to book skew right. He was booking Elon before he became so publicly problematic. He is also the reason Neil deGrasse Tyson was popularized. And he has research paper authors on fairly regularly. It's a mixed bag.
Joe was also on Alex Jones show for 9/11, so they've known each other for a pretty long time. Just back then Joe was just a buddy and not someone he could take that much advantage of. In addition, Joe pushed back more back then, but was still somewhat problematic anyway.
Inviting the loons from both sides of the aisle is why he was on horse paste during COVID. His lack of fact checking give oxygen to some of the worse people.
Omg can you imagine if Rogan fiees up a dutchie and Trump, feeling like he can't be outdone since he's the "alpha male," gets way too fucked up and let's all his bullshit out like "yeah I'm only doing this for the pussy, Joe. I love pussy bigly you know I used to grab it accordion hands"
Will do nothing for his chance of winning. Either the guys were already voting for Trump or they can't legally vote.
Bonus: Trump will probably say something so stupid that it will be used to make fun of the UFC bros. Something so cringe like he could take Tyson in his prime.
I've heard about that but I was thinking there's more to it or some additional context I don't know to make him "one of the worst people ever". I know it's a hyperbole but I'm thinking there's more to this.
