Louis CK, the only man in the world funny enough to un-cancel himself
48 9 ReplyLol true. Though it helps when half of your routine is to joke about how shitty of a person you think you are, and then it turns out that’s true, and people are like “yeah that checks out”

5 0 ReplyTaylor's recent "Look at you" show was hilarious. The story behind that title is amazing too!
Sorry progressive and always know when I watch her stuff that I'm in for a good time.

I'll give you two, one living, one passed.
Randy Feltface is great with crowd work.
Mitch Hedberg was a genius with delivery, and even though I've seen most of his recorded work multiple times, I still laugh out loud.
23 0 ReplyI have a chance to see Randy Feltface live in December but may have to go by myself since my one standup buddy said he "can't do puppets" lol. I mean I get the puppet hate but this isn't like Jeff Dunham, Randy is actually legitimately funny to the point that you kinda forget you're looking at a puppet.
also agreed on Mitch, RIP.
Craig Ferguson is probably my number one though. His specials aren't even that great but the three times I've seen him live have been hysterical, and his Late Late Show was legendary imo, such a quick witted mind for improv.
6 0 ReplyLoved Ferguson. His books are worth a read, too.

Scrolled too far without seeing Weird Al listed. He may not do stand-up but he's absolutely a comedian, and he's been making me laugh consistently for 30 years now.

Demetri Martin! One liners galore and fun visual "musical" comedy.
13 1 ReplyJim Gaffigan
The first time I saw Beyond the Pale I thought I was gonna die laughing.
12 0 ReplyRowan Atkinson. I'm unable to watch Mr Bean or Blackadder with a straight face. Everything he does is comedy gold.
Also the one and only Robin Williams, may he rest in peace. Watched his stand up program and spilled my drink multiple times
10 0 ReplyBill Burr, Eddie Izzard, Diane Morgan, James Acaster, Jimmy O Yang
German: Carolin Kebekus, Kurt Krömer, Teddy Teclebrhan, Loriot (Rest in peace)
11 1 ReplyJoe Wilkinson doesn't even have to open his mouth and I start laughing
10 1 ReplyI’m not saying you’re wrong - humour is subjective. But man, I don’t think Joe Wilkinson has made me even smile. He’s a total ruiner for me in 8 out of 10 cats.
7 2 ReplyWhile I do find him funny, I do think that he seems to lean into one thing extremely heavily and the reaction of him is based on if you find the bit funny or not.
3 0 ReplyI'm so glad I'm not the only one. I honestly don't get whatever he brings to the show. People really love him, so I've always thought it was just me.
The bit where he names people's penises is apparently the funniest thing ever to air on the show, and I just don't connect to it at all.
3 0 Reply
I never found Joe Wilkinson particularly entertaining - that was until his appearance on Taskmaster which was simply sublime.

Conan O'Brien. He's just effortlessly funny, especially when he's just riffing with Sona and Matt on "Conan O'Brien needs a friend".
9 0 ReplyDon Rickles. Some of his stuff is very dated, but he skewers everyone... with love. 🙄

8 0 ReplyI saw him on Netflix and really enjoyed his set so I saw his live show and he delivered. Very funny guy. I am thinking of giving his podcast a chance although I have not heard of his cohost before. Do you recommend?
2 0 ReplyHe's on a few podcasts at this point. The boogie monster, where he cohosts with Dave Stone. I like that one. He also has one with Shane Torres called No accounting for taste. That one I have not seen but I've seen shorts from and it seems funny.

5 0 ReplyBruan Reagan and Norm McDonald are two of my favorites.
5 0 Reply10 that I have enjoyed a lot:
- Kyle Kinane
- Hannibal Buress
- Patton Oswalt
- Mike Birbiglia
- Tig Notaro
- Matt Braunger
- Marc Maron
- Bo Burnham
- Jackie Kashian
- Tim Robinson
- Norm Macdonald
6 1 ReplyThe end of the supermarket episode of Joe Pera Talks With You made me laugh harder than I have ever laughed in my life.
4 0 ReplyPatton Oswalt and Michelle Buteau. Kind of an odd pairing considering their comedy is very different, but they both make me regularly wheeze laugh.
4 0 ReplyThis year I discovered Norm Macdonald and I think he's now my favourite.
Theo Vonn is also hilarious, not so much his stand up but in podcasts and general conversation.
Bill Burr is great too.
4 0 ReplyI'm going with the niche german option: Jan Philip Zymny. He is a former Poetry Slammer and writes hilarious dadaistic texts. An he can also do that spontaneous together with the audience.
And of course the german comedian Thorsten Sträter.
4 0 ReplyJoe Pera
Todd Barry
5 1 ReplyJoke answer: Peter Molyneux
Serious answer: The sadly now retired Eckart von Hirschhausen, who does comedy mostly about health and medical topics.
4 0 Replylol what Peter Molyneux did? I know he's a videogame designer, but I'm out of the loop
1 0 ReplyYeah he never fails to make me laugh. 😅

My personal favourite is Jon Richardson.
3 0 ReplyJoe Lycett, Stewart Lee, Philomena Cunk

11 0 ReplyI want her to be real.
4 0 ReplyHer series "Mandy" was even funnier than Cunk, IMO

Also Maria Bamford is a riot.
3 0 ReplyStavros Halkias
2 0 ReplyI got to see Todd Barry on a whim one night and I was crying laughing in my seat, his crowd work is fantastic and he was absolutely skewering the local yuppies of my town.
3 1 ReplyHajós András
2 0 ReplyChappelle really is the goat of stand up. Bill Burr is always fucking funny. Shane Gillis is pretty funny. Nikki Glaser is hilarious too.
6 4 Replynever understood the hate he gets. I saw that special he did and I really didn't see anything disturbing.
3 1 ReplyI named 4 comedians, only 3 were male but I'm not entirely sure who you're referring to.

2 0 ReplyShane gilis and Matt mcusker mostly when they're not doing stand up. The conversations are just so perfectly stupid that it cracks me up every time.
2 0 ReplyKathleen Madigan Greg Warren Louis CK
2 1 ReplyMichael McIntyre
And generally any comedian doing a bit about raising kids.
2 1 ReplyMichael MacIntyre is the comedic equivalent of beige wallpaper
9 3 ReplyParenthood is a bit like beige wallpaper, though; you have to be able to find the funny in it or you’ll cry every day.
3 0 ReplyBeige wallpaper is still great though even if it doesnt make many people double take in amazement.
He may not be the most challenging comedian ever but he does observational stand up at the absolute top tier.
It's broad, it's over the top, but it's still brilliant. Similar to Peter Kay really.
In my opinion anyway, there aren't many things that are as subjective as comedy so to each their own!)

1 7 ReplyYouTuber matt rose
1 10 ReplyHe just collects content from social media (mainly Twitter search results & comments under Reddit posts). His added value is narration (so that people can listen only) in a unique voice, a few sarcastic remarks and occasionally some boring skits that SponsorBlock rightfully classifies as filler. He is also apparently oblivious to Reddit’s API changes (on the day of the protest, all he stated was that he hopes content returns) and the Twitter acquisition, continuing to use both and never having used content from the Fediverse.
These content-aggregating YouTubers are a dime a dozen, and I would not even call this one a comedian.
Unless your entertainment needs are satisfied with an overly long pronunciation of “skull emojiii”.
