I remember counting using onety-one etc. before I started kindergarten 😆 no idea how I still remember that but I do.
5 0 Replytbf it probably would have been that if there wasn't a period where we counted a lot of stuff in twelves and twenties, that left special words for 11, 12, and 20, with 12 and 20 especially getting the superspecial words "dozen" and "score".
