Yup! There's like 3 people who post in that fascist little community, and he is an open Christian Nationalist.
It's so funny to dunk on them though, because they seem to actually believe the bullshit that gets shovelled down their throats by the insane reactionary media they use to work themselves into a rage.
They think they portray themselves like reasonable scholars, but to anyone outside their little bubble they sound like bath-salt snorting weirdos. Anything that cracks that bubble is deleted immediately by the chief weirdo who mods over there.
I can't imagine anything more "snowflake" than posting from a server that has disabled downvoted. They have no idea how universally hated their politics are.
I actually saw this guy replying to one of my comments in [email protected] hard to believe he isn't banned sitewide there. They usually ban alt-right fash like him pretty quickly.
If a conservative's wife had sex with someone before she married him, the conservative is a cuck. In order to avoid this humiliation, conservatives advocate marrying children. This is consistent and inevitable logic
Christ, Kaboom is embarrassing. Just on every level -- as a man, as a person, as someone on lemmy, as a person who making jokes, just everything. God he's embarrassing.
I think we need to use the 'bootlicker' word more, because we need to point out these are people stanning for rich people. So it's some combination of 'self-made slave,' 'cruel,' and 'tactless.'
Either way, it's like watching someone elses kid on the playground eating cat shit out of the sand box.
It takes a real man who is confident and loving enough to take someone else’s child in and treat them as their own. I can only hope that whomever my ex-wife gets serious with will do this for my children when they are with her. “It takes a village” after all.
You really refer to your stepson as your wife's son in casual conversation? That's highly unusual. You can't respond to a text conversation over the internet because you're going to go do something for an hour or two? This is dishonest as fuck, the guy is clearly mentally handicapped based on the post history and you're baiting him, be it consciously or unconsiously, so that you can farm fake internet updoot points.
Stop filling the fediverse with your reddit tier personal drama. No one gives a fuck that a moron is capable of typing a post on internet. You're acting a clown responding to it genuinely, and validating it with this blog post. This is how these people find the motivation to band together and make their little incel cults.
I'm not sure how successful they are at farming fake internet points when I'm the only other person who saw it and up voted it.
You ok bud? Maybe avoid this community if you don't want to see stupid drama? You know, since that's the entire point?
And for the record, laughing at reactionaries is absolutely the right way to deal with them; they are incapable of introspection, so exposing them as the fools they are keeps other people from falling for their bullshit.
It's not actually unusual to refer to them as such, especially if they didn't go through a formal adoption process. I wouldn't say it's common where I'm from, but certainly not noteworthy.
I don't think we should feed the trolls either but suggesting OP is responsible for others making incel cults is extreme.
Correct take. "Wife's son" taken genuinely gives off very strong distancing vibes. It feels like he's trying to disown or reject his relationship to the stepson. It's kind of like when people say "baby mama" to refer to their current partner. No, there's no direct link between them and myself: we're just related by this other secondary relationship.
"my wife's _" is such a huge meme that it feels forced to even try reading it genuinely when a more organic way of wording it is available.
IMHO you don't get to call them that until they call you dad, and that doesn't necessarily happen the moment you get married.
My mother in law married someone while my wife was an adult. She would never call him dad, and he would never call her daughter, that doesn't mean they aren't family or aren't close.
Some of those comments could seem like an extreme joke of conservative beliefs, but when you take the rest of the comments they actually believe it - that's a terrifying level of far right nutso.
Stepson might involve some kind of adoption, or, I don’t know…
My dad remarried when I was in my late teens, but I didn’t see him much. His wife has never been referred to as my stepmom, etc, but my situation might be different due to a lack of closeness. The OP clearly has some kind of relationship with the kid since they are going to pick them up, but I can see how they might not have that kind of label.
I mean, if you take the word literally, as in cuckoo, he is technically right. Even more so than the actual meaning of cuck. Since cuckoos don't bang other birds' partners, but make them raise children that aren't theirs.
Based on the bird behavior it would be closer, yeah.
Looking at the etymology, it seems the middle English just used the word for the whole situation, and not a strict analogy.
For pure bird-ness, it would apply best to a case of a woman adopting a step child, even more to adoption, and most of all to a single mother with three kids who one day realizes she's not sure how long there have been four babies in her house, and even though one is three times the size of the others and looks very different, they all have similar lower faces so she can't really tell and feeds them all just to be safe.
