I was mildly annoyed when I played Oblivion for the first time and learned that the parts of Tamriel other than Vvardenfell have generic woodland and fantasy creatures instead of the acid trip fever dream shit they came up with for Morrowind.
I was also pissed off when I found out they removed levitation.
The entire continent of Morrowind is very alien. That was honestly one of the biggest draws to the game, because it was a fresh take on the Elder Scrolls type of fantasy. It didn’t just feel like earth with some magical creatures scattered around.
What's most disturbing is how the Dunmer steer these things to go where they want. They poke and prod at their exposed nerves and organs to coax the beasts into going where they want them to go.
If you have to use Fandom for certain wikis, there are certain extensions like LibRedirect that will automatically redirect Fandom links to breezewiki, which is an alternative Fandom frontend without the obnoxious ads.
Holy shit, I never knew we were literally removing the shell from these poor dudes and messing with their brain chemistry in order to influence movement.
To me, it's quite the opposite! I feel like Silt Striders are kind of cozy, actually. What can be more comfortable and safe to travel than on the back of a big bug-giraffe? They are sweet, calm, non-aggressive, domesticated creatures.
