It reads to me like they're very embarrassed for their friend upon finding out they work at that company, a bit like I'd feel bad for a friend that has to work for Jeff Bezos or McDonalds or such.

- To that level of detail, probably not. But the alt text isn't for me, and I appreciate the time and effort op took to put in it to be considerate of those who do need it.
  
  To further clarify, the alt text can be read by text to speech, the image cannot. That is why the alt text is useful - at least this is my understanding.
