We want to wish you all a great new year! We also want to look back on 2023 and the amazing things that have happened here on Lemmy.World and the rest of the Lemmyverse.
We couldn’t have begun to dream of the amazing community we have built here. The self-destruction that has been happening on Reddit has been the opportunity of a lifetime to create an amazing community here. We hope everyone who migrated over has found a great place to share, scroll and upvote here on Lemmy.
The numbers have been amazing:
Almost 150k accounts here on Lemmy.World
212k posts and 1.66 million comments
Almost 10k communities
We think next year will be even better! You can help us achieve that by simply being yourself and posting as much as you want. A special thanks to all the moderators that have kept the communities rolling. Don’t hesitate to thank them for their contributions.
Our donors allow Lemmy.World to stay truly free and accessible for everyone! Thank you to every single one of them. Also thank you to everyone who donated to the team that created Lemmy itself, funding the development of this platform with huge potential.
We hope 2024 will be great for everyone! Thank you for being such an amazing community.
Happy New Year Margot - to our favorite future Golden Globe and Academy Award winning character actress, may your way to cinecitta be pawed with roses and gold!
Edit: i knew there was something wrong with "pawed" - i meant "paved"
You folks have been great - thanks for hosting and thanks for the amazing transparency you've all showed.
If there is one thing I'd ask for in 2024 is a list of defederated instances stickied, so I know if I need to make an alt to browse a certain instance.
Is it 2024 yet? I can not tell, I do not have my glasses on. Making Metamucilmosas tonight. We live on a fixed income and orange juice is expensive. Decided to make mimosas with orange metamucil since that's all we had on hand. My backside will never be the same but my insides ought to be scrape clean.
As soon as it's stable. Believe me we were looking forward to some of the new features too but we saw quite a few instances dealing with issues after upgrading.
Lemmy world is really shaping up and huge props to the admins - what a tough job! I hope you guys don't run out of steam but I'll be sure to set aside some of my foss donations budget to pitch in.
That was the reasoning, yes. Also the user in question was posting the full text ripped from the articles, which is... not good. So no, it isn't a terrible rule at all.
I'm just saying not every community allows posting however much you want. 😊
