I have been looking into some stuff and for now the Philips oneblade looks like the most interesting option to me, does someone maybe have experience with it? How long do the blades last? Or are there any other alternatives you would recommend?
I still have some Gillette blades in stock, those I will use up.

The Philips oneblade works very well for me. It's even ok if you use it for the whole body. I do shave 1-2x a week and the blades last about half a year I'd say.

Braun Series 7 works well for me. Safety razors and other electric razors irritate my skin, but the mesh covering thing is pretty comfortable.
I've been using the current razor body for around ten years, and I get a new razor covering whenever shaving gets uncomfortable (around 18 months).
I have no idea if the razor is produced in the EU.

I have a Merkur Futur, Astra 'superior platinum' blades, and use Proraso shaving soap (it's the best I've tried so far), along with a block of alum as a post-shave treatment. You can get a box of 100 blades for about $10-$20 (any place charging more than $20 is ripping you off), which works out to $.10-.20/blade, and you can reasonably get 3 shaves out of a single blade. A block of shaving soap should last >1 year.
If you really want to get off into the weeds, you can get a really nice straight razor for $200+. But if shaving with a disposable razor is like playing a casual sim game on your phone, and a safety razor is classic Doom on "Hurt Me Plenty" skill level, then a straight razor is like Elden Ring with stick drift, sticky buttons, and a dying battery in your controller.

Same, though they still have use if only to trim the neckline. My favourite is a Merkur 39C, used to shave for work and it made quick work of that.

I found out I can actually grow a terrible beard but before that, this was 100% the way to go.
I have had problems with red spots after shaving most of my life. That all went away when I switched to a safety razor a few years ago. It doesn't hurt that the blades are dirt cheap too.

I cut myself less with these actually. The good thing about it is it doesn't cut so deep, so it doesn't hurt your skin or result in ingrown hair (which is why you get the red spots). This also means that you have to shave a little more often, but also that the process is a bit quicker.
I've bought a really good CNC milled razor for about 30€ that has a nice, well balanced weight. It's solid
aluminium. I'm sure it will outlast me.Edit: it's some zinc-alloy.
Foam up your face. Hold the Razor gently against your face. Do small gentle strokes. Dont press, just let the weight of the razorhead do the work. Rinse out regularly between strokes.
It's still owned by an American Company but the Henry's Shavers are Made exclusively In Germany by an old eastern German Company called "Feintechnik Eisfeld".
They make decent blades and are sold by Lidl under their own brand.
Otherwise Dorco a Corean Company makes also decent 6 blade Shavers, they are often sold by Drug stores and Supermarkets as their own brand. Just look for Made in Corea sign
I got one of those things and I'm not crazy about it. It feels overly complicated, it doesn't just have a "cut where you hold it" beard trimmer type feature, it feels like an electric razor with extra shit to it and I didn't want an electric razor, I wanted something that would hack through foliage
Idk ill just buy a normal fuckin trimmer next time
I have a oneblade, it came with my multigroom 9000 series but I've never used it. The prospect of needing to replace oneblades every so often compared to my trimmers clippers with no such requirement puts me off.
I will consider testing it out for science, particularly if your aim is for wet shave level facial hair length.

Seconding Henson (Canadian). I have the titanium one, and god damn it might be the perfect razor. I cannot fault it.
I don't really wet shave these days but I'm tempted to try one out.
I also got it free with the 9000 and also avoided using it. I gave it a crack six months ago and I find it does a pretty great job of edges, I use it like once or twice a month and I still havent changed the blade with how I'm using it.
Appreciate the input. I'll give it a try sometime.
