Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) taunted Defense Department officials by declaring "the Earth is flat" at a hearing on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) and unidentified flying objects (UFOs).During Wednesday's House Oversight Committee hearing, Boebert said she had been cautioned not to discuss the...
I needed to scroll 1 line to see the punchlinene. In the time after I saw 31:91OM, but before I saw the punchline, is it bad that my first instinct was to hold my phone upside down to see if I could solve the riddle by seeing something hidden in plain sight?
Just saw a recent post about a study into American literacy rates.
54% of American adults have a reading comprehension level of a 5th grader or worse.
Last time I made a post stating that I was surrounded by idiot morons, it got massively downvoted with a whole bunch of people claiming I was acting like a pretentious asshole.
Naw. I've got two college degrees. Worked for huge corpos in the past as a software engineer, data analyst, db admin.
Average American adult is functionally illiterate.
Having a kid in first grade I'm reminded of how awful our language is. Spelling and pronunciation is seemingly random, articles everywhere, nobody knows how to use semicolons outside of programming, few know how to properly quote things, but least our words don't have genders.
Someone once said she looks like Bert in a wig, and I cannot unsee it. Someone also said something far more uncharitable than that, and I cannot unsee that, either...
This was nothing more than a ham-fisted way to get to reiterate that she thinks Biden stole the 2020 election. She is stupid, but she doesn't actually think the earth is flat, and she takes the UAP situation seriously
"Now that we have all been cautioned in this committee hearing that the mention of Pentagon's Immaculate Constellation program could put us on a list," Boebert said. "Well, I already find myself on many lists, I'm sure, as I speak my mind often. So why not just keep going with it?"
"May as well just go all out and say it. The Earth is flat, birds are government drones, and we've never set foot on the moon, and Joe Biden received 81 million votes in the 2020 election," she continued.
"So, let's just see how many lists we could get on here today."
So this dummy used 2 demonstrably false batshit qrazy conspiracies, a demonstrably false batshit crazy satire of conspiracies, and the truth. What a weird combination.
Or (and I realize I'm playing devil's advocate here, but...) maybe she was being sarcastic about all of them? The fact that she referenced the outcome of the 2020 election (the number of votes Biden actually got) along with "the earth is flat" and "birds aren't real" makes me think she doesn't believe any of them and this is just bait.
She is, but also insinuating being a Flat Earther gets you on a watch list. If anything it should get you on an ignore list labeled: Too stupid to be a threat
Read the comments here. Every single one of these idiots believes she was stating her version of the truth. Not a soul here actually watched the video or even read the story.
I hate to defend her, but there was no tirade about flat Earth.
"May as well just go all out and say it. The Earth is flat, birds are government drones, and we've never set foot on the moon, and Joe Biden received 81 million votes in the 2020 election,"
Basically she was being facetious. If that last statement about Biden wasn't there, I might have been convinced she believed these things, but she's equating those statements with the "lie" that Biden got more votes than Trump in 2020.
