Former PM says ‘that’s not funny’ when remote-controlled banner is unfurled behind her at event in Suffolk
This is some beautifully-executed satire.
Former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss (whose reign lasted a mere 45 days) appeared at an event to promote her new book Ten Years to Save the West. As she was blathering on, activist group Led by Donkeys lowered a remote-controlled banner reading "I crashed the economy," with a picture of the famous head of lettuce that outlasted her time in office.
Truss, like most conservative politicians, had no sense of humor about the event, and marched off the stage.
Have you not heard anything she has to say? She's one of THOSE people that think everyone is out to get her because she can't understand the logic of why she is so widely disliked. Basically a US Republican. She's even homophobic and bigoted to boot!
If you have the audacity to write a book with such a grand title as "Ten Years to Save the West" then you shouldn't have been in a position that a cabbage banner sporting a single factual statement can undermine you like that in the first place
Truss has become vocal on US politics, last month addressing Republican supporters and urging them to learn lessons from her brief time in No 10. She said: “I’ve learned how powerful the unelected bureaucracy is. You have to win in November … you have to dismantle the leftist state … they are devious, they are ruthless and they are out to get you.”
I don’t see how she’s qualified to say jack shit about US politics.
I’d’ve figured that the UK is too mature of a country to have anyone in it who’d support elump, but I guess those types are to be found everywhere. Shame, though.
