What is this "retirement" you speak of?

  I always thought the "ice floes" was just figurative, but apparently there actually used to be ice there! TIL~!

- Might just be autocorrect landing on the more commonly-used word but if you're interested, a floe is a sheet of floating ice. Sounds the same as flow but they are different things.
