Just a happy Fedora Gnome Linux user & metalcore music lover. Drop Acid, Not Bombs!
Remind me in 2 years when this project becomes discontinued...
It made me sick to my stomach after 15 minutes and I turned it off.
Holy crap this is a great tip I did not know! I haven't had a run in with the police in like a decade, but better safe than sorry. Hopefully I never need to use it, but I just tried it on my iphone and works like a charm, so thanks mate!
They only have 40 posts so I gave them a follow. It's when accounts have like 10k posts and an account is less than a year old that I won't follow them, I don't need that noise.
Please stop writing nightmares for me to read, thank you. /s
They will. And they'll take it to the Supreme Court, where <checks notes> they'll just install Trump as the winner of the election. Mark my words.
The Supreme Court ruled like a decade ago that cops DO NOT have a constitutional right to protect you. A cop can literally watch you get stabbed to death in the streets, and they are not obligated to help or stop it. Let that sink in.
Who did they get bought out from?
Oh oh oh do Amy Barrett next?
What’s with everyone in our government having family members that are felons all of a sudden? God damn, shit is getting wild van wilder by the day!
I'm legit not trying to troll here, but I vaguely recall a news story last month where Biden said it's not genocide. I forget if he was referring to Ukraine or Gaza, but either way I was kind of dumbfounded like wtf.
It's not just Trump tho, a majority of current Republicans in Congress also support fascism. Even if we're not fucked this November, the pendeullm swings both ways in the US, so sadly at some point we will be beyond fucked. Vote and shit, but enjoy your lives while we can, the next ~30 years are really, really gonna suck blue balls.
Remember this simple fact: in the US we call it lobbying, but every other country calls is corruption.
I use a filter on Mastodon so I can limit how much Elon Musk headlines I see. People love to talk about him, I mean here we are.....but at least with the filter I can tune out the noise most of the time. It's blissful. A shame there's no filters (that I know of) on Lemmy to hide asshats like this. I already know Musk is a POS, I don't need to see a dozen articles every single day to remind me.....
"Wtf else do people want in gimp, an automatic dick sucking machine?"
I mean, now that you mention it, I would very much yes. YES.
I guess Lemmy is mostly tech nerds like myself, but it's still cool as hell to see another Fedora user around :)

Pros: vertical tabs, web apps, side panel, workspaces, many customizations. to be clear tho, Firefox has already stated they will be incorporating most of these features by version 130 or sooner.
Cons: no mobile app, video playback with DRM may be an issue on some sites, uncertain future, essentially it's maintained by one dev so if they ever go the future is uncertain.
tl;dr, Floorp is kind of like Vivaldi with customizing and privacy in mind, but based on Firefox's gecko engine
let's be honest, he is beyond rehabilitation.
it's going to get a lot worse before we start to actually do anything about it...
Life is way too short. You made the right call for yourself and there's nothing wrong with that.
[Feature Request] Add option to move upvote/downvotes to left or right side
Would it be possible to add an option to move the upvote/downvote area to the left side? It would be great for those that are left handed vs right handed.
We already have the ability to move the thumbnails to the left or right side, which is great and would love to see an option like this make its way in too. If it’s not possible no worries but I figured it can’t hurt to ask, thank you!
[BUG] Community titles all have different font sizes
As you can see in the above screenshot, the communities on the left hand side like lemmyworld, technology, and microblogmemes all have different font sizes. This is very jarring and needs correcting, plus it’s much harder to read small fonts when it’s all squeezed in there.
One solution could be to put the communities name on the line above the post title or perhaps put it below the upvote/down vote line so it has more space. Please hope you can fix this, as it makes readability difficult, thank you.
[Feature Request] Add ability to move up/downvote/comment/time bar from the left to right side
This is a screenshot from Narwhal 2 (one of the last still active Reddit apps), and for context the layout is a lot more consistent. What I mean specifically is the community heading title is always on the far left indent, and it’s always color coded for easier readability. Also for consistency the upvote/downvote numbers are always on the far right indent. My eyes always know where these two things are in that regard. On Avelon the upvote numbers after the community title so the numbers/the button to upvote them aren’t always in the right place. This is a small nitpick to be sure, but as a graphic designer for consistency it would be great to keep things in places they should always be. If you have any further questions, I’m happy to expand and explain my reasonings. Also thank you so so much for making a wonderful app.
Possible to add hiding up/down buttons?
This may be an odd request but as it stands now there are at least two ways to upvote/downvote a post, either clicking the arrow buttons on the left side of the post or the big rounded buttons on the right side too.
I think for a very minimal, clean and simple look if you could add an option to remove/hide the big rounded upvote buttons. I normally tap the little small arrow on the left so the big rounded buttons take up space.
Please let me know if this is already being worked on or if it’s something you might consider to add in the future I’d greatly appreciate it.
