Hey so I see there’s a few different instances for TodayILearned, are they all considered unique? Like would it be /TodayILearned1 /TodayILearned2 and so on if they were on Reddit, separate communities? Or are community names unique throughout the fediverse?
I'm liking all the ones I'm subscribed to right now, can't really nail down a favorite. Get a wide array of topics here, I was really pidgeon holed before because I'd get overloaded.
Adding an exclamation point at the beginning like that makes it friendly for remote instances. Anyone can click and subscribe no matter if they're on lemmy.world or not!
(those last two have posts with megalists of related communities too, for gamedev and crafts respectively, check them out if you're interested in either topic)

Nothing specific but swapping to Lemmy I realized that it was a lot of big subs but not smaller video game subs :( so I guess in general if there are games you play, go be active in those communities!
There's [email protected], which was hard to find for me because it didn't appear in Lemmy's builtin search. I had to use a search engine to get to it (and then use URL tricks to subscribe to it from my instance). Maybe try that for now?
The instance I am on (Lemmy.zip) seems to have a lot of game based communities. You can check it out to see if a community you're looking for exists or create your own.
Ehh, old hold off judgment for now. There are some serious concerns about over moderation. I was banned recently for trying to discuss community standards when after making a post from a clickbaity site. Took out someone else too who agreed with me on a different community
You can be biased and promote.
I'm already subbed there and have participated. Board games have been so much fun. I need to have people over to play some Wingspan again. And to play some of the Unstable Unicorn games that I haven't tried yet
