Authoritarians literally believe that the only way to run things is to put a bully in charge of them. Not only don't they believe in democracy or cooperation, they don't believe in free speech or markets either.
(Markets are acceptable to an authoritarian only insofar as the bully in charge and his buddies are permitted to lie to, cheat, and steal from other market participants. It is strictly forbidden for other market participants to voluntarily organize to exclude the bully. Any form of organization that does not have a bully in charge of it is illicit to the authoritarian mindset.)
Yeah the real “alpha” types are more afraid of steamrolling people than coming off as weak. They know there’s nothing wrong with submissive and vulnerable folks.
On Reddit, anyway, on conservative safe spaces with flair you'll often see people self identifying as monarchists. It's a nice way of saying "fascist dictatorship". The leader would of course be psychologically identical to them in perpetuity, just because.
He's a grifter. He doesn't believe anything he's saying, he's just like the guy he's pledging allegiance to. He'll collect in some way, whether it is in royalties from views, speaking engagements, or whatever. He's playing a character.
It doesn't excuse him or his bullshit. But guaranteed this is a grift on the manipulated masses.
the answer to this has alway been "because no matter how badly he fucks everything up, he'll never get in the way of them being white christian nationalist terrorists"
I mean not to hype them up but we are lucky it was his dumb ass instead of cruz or anyone else who knows how to work the system that is also a racist racist piece of shit
Trump was real bad but it could have been much much worse
Far-right activist Nick Fuentes voiced his support for Donald Trump by swearing allegiance to the former president in a video circulating on social media.
Trump, who surrendered at Atlanta's Fulton County Jail on Thursday after being indicted on 13 counts over allegations that he broke the law attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election result in Georgia, has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, describing the case against him as a politically motivated witch hunt.
Fuentes—described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a white nationalist livestreamer who advocates pulling the Republican Party further to the extreme far-right end of the political spectrum—has had a rocky relationship with Trump.
Prior to November 2022, Fuentes was a vocal MAGA supporter who often spoke in favor of Trump and has criticized mainstream Republicans.
The Holocaust denier attended a dinner at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in November with rapper Kanye West, now known as Ye, along with two other men.
And I swear allegiance to God and Jesus Christ," Fuentes said in a video that was later shared to X, formerly Twitter, by account Right Wing Watch.

I somewhat get people thinking having a good king is better than a bunch of quibling politicians, but kings weren't all powerful and the quibling politicians in their day were still the ones that actually ran the show.
And if you're going to chose a king, why chose orange painted generic loudmouth manchild number 5322.
I find solace in the fact that 50 cents out of every dollar of his campaign money is being spent on legal fees at the moment. His main PAC had a balance of over 100 million and sank to under 5 million. This was all prior to the George charges, which I imagine is going to radically increase his legal exposure.
These people are systematically transferring hundreds of millions to the ultimate con man.
