Idk I grew up with it in Indiana and Ohio
What we really need is an increase in growler culture. I want to be able to bring my own bottle to a shop and have my beer/wine/liquor/soda/whatever dispensed and priced by volume from their keg/cask/dispenser. It was just a thing with beer when I lived in Kentucky and it’s something I wish was more of a thing where I live now. I’m sure it was partly due to their lax alcohol laws, but it was striking to see such an environmentally responsible habit in the heart of coal country
And because of that gerrymandering we often find an adverse relationship between the state government and the people. Last year’s big elections are a good example of it. The state was trying to ban abortion despite a consistent majority supporting it and the state wanted heavy regulation of marijuana despite a strong majority preference for recreational legalization. We had a direct democratic election that legalized both and the state government attempted to restrict them as much as possible anyways.
It’s Ohio, it’s the only way we ever get what we want
That wouldn’t be an official act as president. What would be an official act as president would be nuking mar a lago, calling a special forces strike on trump, or possibly even getting him sent to Guantanamo
A lot of old people have embraced the fascism
They hate me online more than irl. And I’m under the impression I’m generally well regarded online
Yeah well I was less scared when people weren’t openly hating my neighbors for being Jewish
Their criminal justice system leaves much to be desired in the mercy area
They need to know your height so they can tell you how the weather is up there
You cannot have a functioning industrial/post industrial society without a bureaucracy. The chevron deference was an acknowledgment of that
Hell, he wasn’t even the only one carrying his. He stumbled three times and a stranger helped him carry it
Ok as an ex catholic the level of sacreligiosity here is impressive. The cross isn’t the heavy bit, it’s heavy sure, he was tortured to death, but a stranger helped him carry it when he couldn’t carry it alone. The heavy bit was choosing to go be tortured to death for everyone including his killers. It was refusing to use divine power to save himself. The cross? No, a thief, a murderer, and a prophet died on that hill that day, each carried their cross, each died on it.
Protestants are fucking weird.
Yeah, as an Ohio trans woman, I’m post op and my choices in presentation are to look like a non passing trans woman, a woman without qualifiers (those two are just random which I’m perceived as), or I can try to look male and look like a bad drag king or like a non passing trans man.
Maybe people just need to get used to people like us existing in public
Fucking hell now I need to go yell at my representatives
Oh you’re actually that stupid, let me laugh harder
Constitutional originalists and spitting on common law, name a more iconic duo.
All originalists should have to explain why they’re doing something to Thomas Paine
So imagine you’re listening to rap. But you’re hard of hearing. The beats still slap, but the words aren’t intelligible. Hell the beats are even better because you got a subwoofer that shakes the floor. But you know it’s poetry, it’s about the words as much as the beats. So of course you’d want to read along
No it really isn’t. The hard of hearing are considered deaf. There’s complete deafness, much like there’s complete blindness, but the fact that you’re calling it hearing impairment instead of hard of hearing indicates you aren’t as well versed in Deafness (not to be confused with deafness) as you think
Attempting to use Home Assistant OS
But I’ve been getting this error:
[supervisor.docker.interface] Can't install ghcr.io/home-assistant/generic-x86-64-homeassistant:2024.4.4: 500 Server Error for http+docker://localhost/v1.44/images/create?tag=2024.4.4&fromImage=ghcr.io%2Fhome-assistant%2Fgeneric-x86-64-homeassistant&platform=linux%2Famd64: Internal Server Error ("Get "https://ghcr.io/v2/": net/http: request canceled while waiting for connection (Client.Timeout exceeded while awaiting headers)") [supervisor.homeassistant.core] Error on Home Assistant installation. Retrying in 30sec
I’ve tried changing DNS, but it didn’t help and I seem to get no other helpful results from searching. If anyone has any suggestions I’d appreciate it as this seems to be something my home could benefit from but it’s just not loading beyond the CLI
