A downside I never really thought of... is it more like a severe peanut allergy or like some sort of lactose intolerance?
- I think it's just repulsive to them, but not harmful.
- i think the most "realistic" thing would be for vampires to just have much stronger sense of smell and thus garlic is like a punch to the face
  
  so really vampires would just need way less garlic in their garlic bread, so much money saved!
