During this small group discussion, I and others tried to get our Googlers to address the biggest problem facing our industry: Google giving big brands special treatment. Each time a site owner brought up the topic, we were quickly steered in another direction.
Funeral? Poppycock, KPIs are great. Bloodwork is coming in excellent. Perfect cholesterol, low leukocytes, beautiful plumage. So what if he's braindead?
If hostile sarcasm is all you can bring to a conversation, just keep quiet and breath it out. Everyone feels agravated sometimes. Find healthier ways to deal with it.
I think it's perhaps some wishful thinking. The atmosphere was distopic and they were being obviously used without accomplishing anything they needed. I think the author probably wishes the state Google is in is going to catch up with it. Or perhaps it's a funeral because the good old search engine is dead.
