Finally got a job after almost 5 months of being without. Tens of thousands of financial damage to repair, but I can finally get started. My whole retirement is wiped out at fifty. Probably some ugly tax implications. But we'll make it.
Got Covid, also trying clean THC out of my system cold turkey, learn i have a dairy allergy (not lactose intolerance), kind of depressed, considering starting AA, having an internal philosophical conflict with social media and the people on it. Pretty standard stuff. What about you?
Surprisingly well. My 30 day no smartphone experiment I posted about here last week is going far better than expected. Probably going to post a check-in update tomorrow.
Physical therapy was a mixed bag. Monday was good, Wednesday was a mess because the therapist and receptionist were out so both had subs. A mess. Husband is not doing well physically which is hopefully nothing. Currently I have chicken noodle soup in the slow cooker too help him feel better. My cat is still sulking over mothers cat going home and the cat refused to say hi to her so, sulk. It's suddenly cold here which feels wrong.
just got back from vacation, now I feel like it's time to get my shit together. got back to the gym, cleaned some stuff. hopefully this lasts lol. but yeah going good so far
Got a small raise at my job. It's been a while since the last one (always been given stock units instead for the past few years). It's not huge, but it's enough to significantly cover one of our monthly expenses (bills, mortgage principal, or groceries). Also got a one-time bonus so that was nice.
Started talking with a woman a few days ago and it seems to be going real well! She's actually sending genuine responses which feels pretty good. All the responsibility to keep the conversation flowing is on me but I'll take a win where I can get it
My work also looks like it'll finally be picking up after two years which is gonnabe a huge relief to have OT and just general work to do again. So, so far, my week has been pretty good!
Finished holidays and went back to study for september's exams session.
I've made up my mind to use Lemmy more and not just as a substitute for the daily dose of doom-scrolling.
