They shouldn't be. If the police can't effectively detour crime, we shouldn't have to rely on the 2nd amendment to protect our stuff - excuse me, defend ourselves.
You're gonna wanna hit up YouTube or something because there's some really good examples of and explanation for why vibratin booby trapping is really bad.
And if someone picks it up in good faith? Trapping something that is locked away and could only be a theft attempt is one thing, but this is a cooler sitting out in the open. There are plenty of reasons a well-meaning person might pick it up.
This isn't reasonable theft detterent, this is sadism.

I'm all for a touch of caution as I don't like most people but this aggressive climate of fear is half the reason we have a climate of fear. People willing to maim anyone who looks at them because "I'm defending me and my property" has a knock-on effect on everyone else and just makes the world that much more shitty to live in.
