President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, has hosted a thank you event for hundreds of staffers who worked on the reelection campaign.
Of course, ice cream was involved.
President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, hosted a thank you event on Thursday for hundreds of staffers who worked on the reelection campaign that he chose to exit nearly three weeks ago.
Judging by the security tents, the location offered a dose of political nostalgia: The staffers met with Biden at The Queen, a music venue that played a critical role in his successful race for presidency in 2020, when he often spoke to the public from the theater’s stage.
After having dropped out of the race, Biden wanted to show his appreciation for the staff’s work over the past year and their continued efforts in support of Vice President Kamala Harris, who succeeded him as the Democratic nominee. That’s according to a person familiar with the president’s plans who shared details of the events but insisted on anonymity to discuss the arrangements.
The event featured food and, naturally for Biden, his beloved ice cream.

It's funny that "enjoys ice cream" became a defining political trait for Biden. Like, yes he does, but basically everyone does.
I wouldn't be surprised to learn Trump is indifferent about ice cream.
I might wonder if he is anti-ice-cream.
Actually, as CNN reported 7 years ago, in the Trump White House, the rule was that Trump got two scoops while everyone else only got one.

I mean 36% of Americans are lactose intolerant. And the far right, weirdly views dairy consumption as some kind of high status...
I have never met a lactose intolerant person that didnt, upon mentioning it when they inevitably buy something full of lactose, look me dead in the eye and confirm their terrible intolerance before going into a frightening lactose-consuming frenzy that chilled me to my very core.
They know the price they must pay. They laugh at death and spit in the face of genetics. A grim, dangerous people, the lactose intolerant.
There are pills these days that are very good at breaking down lactose for you if you take them before eating
Yeah, but most of the lactose intolerant people I know constantly forget to take them, lol.
Those don't seem to work for me. I think it's because they started using an artificial sweetener that gives me equal or worse digestive issues
I pay the price everyday and I will never stop consuming delicious dairy even as it hurts me so much.

Not as much as it used to. There's some very good vegan ice cream out there. Just expect to pay more and have less selection.
Ben & Jerry make amazing ones. That brand that does Avocado ice cream is surprisingly really good (I was very skeptical). Nada Moo Cookies and Cream is pretty good.
Not ice cream, but a lot of the Talenti sorbets are also vegan and very good.
You can make a pretty good homemade version by blending bananas and avocado together and freezing it.
Frozen fruit and fruit juice makes a great creamy fruity ice cream. Add some coconut milk too

Politics aside, I've known a few lactose intolerant people who still love ice cream. Willing to put themselves, those they care about and share confined spaces with, through the consequences of their intolerance for a scoop of that sweet salty iced cream with chocolate.

Seriously, these people never cease to disappoint in their weird metrics to prove themselves better than others.
That's hilarious, because historically in Europe milk drinking was viewed as something peasants did and calling Europeans butter stinkers is one of my more favorite insults.
I don't like ice cream. It tastes like guilt.
