Why is living with your parents considered a bad thing?
  • It's a disgrace - but only because the system is so messed up. I'm old enough to own my own house but my kids probably never will unless they live with me well into their 30s and save like crazy. My generation and those before me have screwed up the housing market.

  • Kanban for [@obsidianmd](https://lemmy.world/c/obsidianmd) -- 😍😍😍!
  • I can second this. Digital systems always felt like I was managing the system somehow, whatever it was. They always felt delicate, as if I had to do things a certain way. Paper journaling over the last couple of years has felt so much easier by comparison. I was going through my to-do list yesterday and I just suddenly realised I wasn't even thinking about the system - I was just doing the work. I still work within Obsidian - my resources and annotations and notes are all still in there - but the basics of 'knowing what to do next' are on paper again.

  • The Hardest Thing in the World
  • It's so hard to know where to even start. Say one thing and it's like you have to go right back to the basics of how money, capitalism and society work. Nuanced conversation is Impossible.

  • Spaced Repetition settings

Does anyone else use the Spaced Repetition plugin?

I'm still trying to figure out the 'base ease' setting. I find the gap between reviews is often larger than I would like. Would making the 'base ease' setting larger make the gap between reviews bigger or smaller? I can't seem to find the answer on the plugin's algorithm explanation page.

How do you use MOCs to organize your vault?
  • I use folders and tags for organisation (Auto Note Mover puts my notes where I want them based on how I tag them. But I use AutoMOC to make a big list of connections that I then reorganise into categories. It's a really good way to make sense of things after I've built up a good bank of ideas on a topic. But I don't use them for navigation; I'd much rather go through search or quick switcher.
