Congrats! Indeed, it's truly the end of an era. What did you block though? I have a 17-year-old who has never had anything blocked. Always PC though. never seemed to be an issue.
I had to do that with everything. We had to block the TV, the Internet, the PCs, the Xbox, and basically anything that could provide entertainment because my son would get up after we went to bed and stay up all night long. It was a frustrating phase for sure.
I feel lucky i never felt the need to block anything other than one year in middle school I had our entire Wi-Fi router shut off around 11pm for a couple of hours. That only lasted a couple of months.
If anything I’m relieved that don’t have to deal with the whole Parent Account with Child sub accounts. That whole set up is poorly implemented by Sony/PS in my experience… navigating the menus and accounts was torture over the years
I don't know the cutoff for this, and while it is certainly within their rights to upgrade, I hope you guys had a chat about it and expectations.
Yes they can make their own decisions.
No, not all gaming communities are friendly, even for adults. Look at League of Legends - it's a cesspit; at least it was way back in 2010-2012 when I was playing.
True stuff, to be fair, LoL is quite better nowadays. The average age of players has grown with the game, I had a game with two other 30+ year olds and we were joking about it, when we got destroyed we were still cracking jokes.
