There’s also write.ellipsus.com as a free google docs alternative (from Germany) and it’s currently in beta but open to the public :) I use it already and I like it a lot. They are also against generative AI which is very important to protect creative writing.
As a ashamed American, really glad Trump is a complete fuck-up. I feel like this is spurring innovation in Europe and it will give us Americans a chance to get away from shitty corrupt corporations and have an alternative too. Fuck google.

Seems like you need some kind of French business ID to sign up at the moment.
I'll be following this. Once the public can use it, I'll definitely replace google docs with it.

While Docs is a public driven initiative our licence choice is an invitation for private sector actors to use, sell and contribute to the project.
