Great speech but there is still too much wishful thinking regarding the US. The fight in the US is just barely starting and it is nowhere near getting to the worst parts. Europeans need to assume that not only is American help not coming back in their lifetime, but that there is a good chance that they might need to arm themselves against American aggression. Maybe not all out war but certainly in skirmishes.
I hear that. I took those comments in a couple of ways:
- he is at least to some degree describing real things that are happening
- more so, I took it as an expression of faith that America has deep reserves of reason and dignity which are not exhausted yet
- it was also a subtle cue to those of us who think we’re part of those reserves to get off our asses
If America goes inte fascism, Europe is lost anyway. America will be similar to Russia and China and they will just split up Europe and take it.
Someone's been playing too much hearts of iron 4. Pray tell, why would America invade Europe and annex it. What does Europe have in resources? It's people are smart but would leave, all you'd get is pretty mid land. Also the Americans cannot logistically fight a war if it lost all its bases in allied countries, and most nations would take a shot at getting revenge and funding against America it wouldn't look good for you guys.
That is the speech America needs to watch. On repeat.
Even though it was all dire news it was uplifting to just hear the actual truth and a clear moral direction articulated. I found it very refreshing. The bullshit is so THICK right now.
