DOGE Now Has Access to the Top US Cybersecurity Agency

So infuriating. One unelected "head" of an unofficial department not approved or funded by Congress asking for Top Secret access, and people are just like "yep, here you go!" WTF.

Even if you feel like they'll do what they want no matter what, we don't have to do their jobs for them... RESIST!!!

Workers are trained to follow orders.

In another life, my job required me to have a fancy ID. As part of the training when receiving that ID I was specifically told to never give it to anyone or even let it out of my sight if it was not in a secure and controlled location.

IMMEDIATELY after signing forms saying I had completed that training, the person at the badge desk told me to give them my ID so they could do things. I made a half hearted joke of "This feels like a trick" and was immediately yelled at with a guard (who I am pretty sure wanted to bang said desk lady) getting in my face and telling me that it is a privilege not a right to have one of those and he is sick and tired of people not respecting the flag and blah blah blah. I need to get back to work and didn't feel like having someone wave an assault rifle in my face so I handed over the badge and decided to not care.

So yeah. When your boss says "just do it", you... just do it. And your boss is saying that because they were told to and so forth up until a shitweasel who wants to curry favor with the new administration. Because, if you don't, you will be made an example of and fired for completely unrelated reasons. And while it is easy to say "Obstruct them, get fired", that doesn't really help when you need to provide for your loved ones.

If you've taken any training, you know the weakest link is always the human.

In some agencies, you are trained to disobey an unethical or unlawful order. I guess people just rapidly clicked through the power point slides on mandatory training days.

Musks long dream of x, the "everything app" (ie, the app all must use to buy, sell,travel,work,receive medical care,and be surveilled by means of starlink, and all federal systemds will run through, etc)is soon to come to fruition.

Possible motive: “X” —> American WeChat

Like other crimes, with cyber attacks it is important to identify a motive to understand your attacker better and anticipate their next move. In this attack I believe the motive is a forced cutover of critical infrastructure systems in banking, telecommunications and travel to a centralized model. In plain terms what I’m saying is that DOGE wants to migrate American federal systems to X using the WeChat model where all network and transactional systems are centrally routed and processed. I believe this is the case because of these signals:

Apple silently released an update as part of 18.3 on Friday that includes Starlink support.

What this could look like from a rollout perspective is:

X is assigned as the communications authority for all government agencies, this is already underway: NTSB exclusively communicating via X.

Route all federal transactions through X: This is underway as DOGE has taken control of the federal treasury and pushed out the acting director.

Create X profiles that map to the US citizen records database, to streamline management of identity and act as proof of citizenship.

Standardize on a government monitored telecommunications network, Starlink, to allow network traffic control of all domestic communications, giving federal agencies (or just DOGE) the authority to censor information at will.

But, they're allowing a 19-year old, with connections to hacker groups, with access.

Now now, you know that's not exactly true. It'sa 19-year old nazi with connections to hacker groups.

I kind of always thought script kiddies would be the end of modern nations... but not quite like this.

Even if this were a legitimate government department and not a bunch of arrogant kids led by an unelected Nazi billionaire, it would be crazy security to give them access to everything like this.

I would trust Stellantis way more than these Dogebags.

Nahhhhhhhh.

He didn't go after USAID for probing how money given to Starlink was spent and how their terminals ended up in the hands of Russia, he did it because they were inefficient.

He didn't go after the FAA for making SpaceX follow regulations when launching massive, combustible hunks of metal above cities, he did it because they were inefficient.

He didn't go after the SEC for investigating his shady business dealings and market manipulation, he went after them because they were oh so horribly inefficient.

He didn't go after the FDA for putting up safety guardrails that affect Neuralink's human experimentation technological progress, it was because they were pure inefficiency.

He didn't go after the NTSB because they impeded Tesla and the cyber meat cleaver, but because they were InEffICiEnT.

I'm suuuuuure it's just another case of inefficiency. /s
