The point is moot. Social media is like a bar. Every bar has politics at some point. Its always been about frequenting the places you find endearing. Make a community that does not allow mention of politics, hell a whole instance. Block the words, defederate with anyone else. That should do it.

Content filters are your friend here. It's the only way of making social media barely tolerable. You just need to keep updating it constantly as next week there's going to be a new "existential crisis" that nobody can shut up about. I've been posting and chatting with people on RedNote or Xiaohongshu for about a month or so and there's very little politics content there, which is refreshing! There's a few Americans who can't kick the habit, but I usually either block em or tell the app not to show me content like that and it's pretty good about it.
