Ive been getting a bug where typing in the app, like a comment or something, if I repeatedly press backsapce to fix a typo or something, it will delete the spaces before words.
Also saving an image crashes the app every time.
And sometimes the names of communities in feed get their last word removed. So I would see post from 'you should' rather than 'you should know'
And also, the app constantly goes back to the top of 'Subscribed - Active'. So if ive been browsing 'All - Top day' for an hour, sometimes clicking on a post and then backing out again will jump straight back to top of 'Subscribed - Active'.
Edit: a one that comes up for me too is getting messages appear on screen for a couple of seconds. Sometimes they say 'Timeout' but other times its 'Value <html'> of type java.lang.String cannot be converted to JSONObject'
Not sure what that means but just thought I'd mention it here in case anyone else is experienceing similar
Value/JSONOBJECT error happens to me constantly. usually when navigating to comments, a community,a post by someone from their profile, etc. Probably the biggest blocker to using the app right now.
Hey this might be a dumb question, but I'm not very familiar with Github and bug reports, could you link a guide or video or something that basically covers bug reports like these but for dummies. I would be afraid I dont provide relevant information or cause confusion for a developer trying to fix a bug ive reported.
In my case, I have the typing bug. I'm on Android 9 and am using app version 0.0.33 (the most recent update from f droid)
And yes, basically, say I'm typing a comment like this one. I'm writing a sentence and make a typo in a word. If I start repeatedly hitting backspace to go back and fix the typo, it will start removing the spaces before words.
It does it in order, working backwards from the last word you typed.
I'm not sure of the exact cause but I usually encounter it after writing a few lines and then I click the screen to make an edit to an earlier part and it appends the text to the end of the string rather than where I clicked. To work around it I have to delete to the part I want to edit and write it again. It does not occur in any other apps I use.

Random crashes; opening a community shows the last community I viewed for a moment; can't jump to comment replied via inbox; viewing comments that were in the inbox only sometimes clears them; inbox count usually does not match the number of messages present; some comments are not posted, with inscrutable technical errors popping up in unhelpful toasts.
I've been noticing that when I try to paste something on mobile, like a link, into my comment it will move the cursor to the beginning of my comment instead of where I want the pasted link to go
Ive seen this too. Sometimes if ive made a lot edits to a comment, it will move the cursor some place else. So a sentence or link even will just randomly be cut in half and the other half will somewhere else in the comment.
The app doesnt seem to like images in the comments very much. When I try to scroll while one of those images is on the screen, the comment section jumps up and down.
I made a screen recording and uploaded it to Streamable, then added the link to a big report I added on Github. Hopefully that helps, I have never made a bug report before lol. Link is here -> (https://github.com/dessalines/jerboa/issues/748 )
I am unable to comment in some .ml instances. I can comment and post no problem in my home instance and beehaw (I'm not sure if I can now due to them defederating) but not in two instances on .ml.
I can comment here interestingly enough. Otherwise the app is pretty dang responsive and runs better than my previous 3rd party reddit app. I have noticed some crashing rarely, but I think that may be due to my broken android install rather than the app itself.
Kudos to the developer(s) of Jerboa though, for an alpha this runs pretty well
If I'm typing a comment and I go back and edit a word in the middle, then tap the cursor back to the end and there's a period there, the word in the middle I edited stays underlined and if I type more it'll jump the cursor back to the underlined word and delete that word, replacing it with whatever I tried typing at the end.
Scrolling is really really laggy and buggy. This only happens on my local feed, and to some extent on the federated section. Not sure why that happens.
Yeah, writing in Jerboa kinda sucks at the moment, if I'm commenting anything longer than a sentance or two I generally just copy and paste it from my notes app!
I'll be logged in, but when attempting to subscribe to a community or adding a comment, I get an error "login first". I just went back to the account drop-down and reselected my account and am now able to make this comment. I'll often come back to the app and see my account and login info is gone, and I have to re-add them and re-login
I have the same issue with the backspace thing. Luckily I have a second keyboard installed that doesnt have auto-correct and with this keyboard it works without problems.
If i remove the check to the checkbox "view read posts" it works, i can't see the post that i already read. Unfortunately this includes also the post that i created or commented. I need to re-check that checkbox to br able to see those.
