I sometimes feel like an outlier because Autumn and Winter happen to be my favourite seasons. I love chilly air since I deal with the cold way better than I do with the heat, and I find it so much more refreshing... my all time favourite type of weather is best described with a picture (Disclaimer: not my photo!)
Sunny, snowy weather where the visibility is high, everything's blanketed in powdery, sparkly snow, and there's not a cloud in the sky. It's just such a vibe and it instantly makes me happy! 😃 What type of weather is your favourite and why?
My favourite is probably warm but not crazy hot, slight breeze and just cloudy enough so that the sun isn't burning you to a crisp. Makes for a nice time to relax or work outside. Also means that the horses are happy and don't need to drink tons of water.
Horses are a pass time for me so they are more free time partners. I may get around to riding again in the future. Though right now I am still very busy sorting out a lot of horse related things since I got them home this year so I didn't really get to do too much else yet.
Everyone seems to hate on snow because of driving hassles but hiking across moonlit snow is incredibly beautiful to me!
For some reason I really like windy days too! It makes everything sway around and seem alive. It can be windy in any season but it's really nice when it's warm enough that it doesn't make you uncomfortably cold.
Too windy is a thing haha! One time in spring it was blowing 50-60mph sustained, gusting to 70. I live close enough to the great lakes and had the day off so I drove to a park by the water out of curiosity. It was intense enough that it was a challenge just to walk around sometimes. I had never seen waves that big in person before or since!
To answer your question the woods behind my parent's house goes to a reservoir lake. During one winter it was cold enough long enough that the ice was a foot thick. So me and some relatives made an expedition to hike through the woods, across the snow covered ice and all the way to a small island we had never set foot on!
Soft rain with thin enough clouds that there's still light, and chilly but not cold.
If you want me to get really specific (because I got to experience recently): Sometime between Oct 15th and December 1, in the Willamette Valley in Oregon, roughly 5pm, light rain, 50 degrees, listening to Gone by Pearl Jam.
I live in a place with mild winters and barely any snow, so I like the cool, crisp air without the snow/ice. Around 12C-15C with a slight breeze and wearing a cozy hoodie is my favorite kind of weather.
Our summer/rainy season. Warm mornings building to hot early afternoon, then thunderstorms, rain to cool everything off, then warm evenings with crazy beautiful lightning, all different sorts, so you can have dinner and a show.
Plus I would pretty much always rather be too hot than too cold. Most people come here for our winters but I really love the rainy season.
A perfect English summer afternoon, about 24°C / 75°F. A blue sky with a little dapple of high white clouds and a very gentle breeze.
Ideally, sitting in a country garden with a generous G&T. Sounds of children playing far enough in the distance that it's a background noise, of bees lazily searching the flower beds, and for sheer perfection a propeller plane powered by a Merlin engine also droning somewhere far off.
