No shit? Wow, I've played through the game 3 times and never thought to check. It's so cheap that it wasn't really ever an issue.
He also doesn't get pissed off if you fail, so you can keep trying again and again

It's not like he is in any rush... Why get mad at a temporary setback when you have potentially all eternity to get what you want.
