Losing over 100 drones in a single incident that mostly fizzled surely won't come back to bite them in the ass on other fronts in the very, very near future. They're throwing rocks at a tortoise and they aren't exactly sitting on a mound of gravel

That is the most likely case, but IF Ukraine doesn't have enough defense on the border he might attack for Putin. It is a risk, but if he takes and hold Kiev it is a win. He might just be insane enough to attempt that, so Ukraine must figure out how to defend and that diverts troops (which is what Russia wants)
