Republican National Convention delegates approved a platform that barely mentions abortion — a stark contrast to previous party positions. VOA’s chief national correspondent Steve Herman reports that this softer stance on abortion is aimed at making Donald Trump more appealing to undecided voters.
Correction: If they’re voting Republican, they’re united on abortion. You can be a principled objector, but the moment you cast a vote for a Republican—particularly at the national level—you are, like it or not, casting a vote for everything that the party stands for and that includes ending abortion protections.
I'm not sure that's a fair attribution. Just like we have plenty of people that reject US/Biden support of Israel but are still going to vote democrat.
I would argue it’s not the same since the entire Republican package follows the same general theme. That of hating women, LGBT, removing bodily autonomy, generally just being assholes.
This dude will sign anything put in front of him for the right price.
They will do an absolute ban on abortions with no exceptions, ban on contraception, ban on interracial marriage, ban on same sex marriage, and a ban on anything related to LGBTQ.
Just read Project 2025. It's all there and will be your future if he wins.
