Your argument supposed we should just accept this out of the Biden administration because "Trump would be worse"..
You get that the argument you are making isn't good enough, don't you? There won't be a Palestine in November. It's irrelevant what or how Trump would be when Biden is as bad as it needs to be for the total destruction of the Palestinian people right now. Not at some future date, but right now.
Biden apologists for the US position on Israel and Palestinian are sustaining this genocide.
Realistically we should stop funding them in general. But it's become a great way for congressmen to get an unofficial pay bump. They vote to send money etc to Israel. Then Israel uses that money to "lobby" them.
There's a lot of useful nuance in that Guardian article; it's not exactly that simple
But also:
The Israeli prime minister said ... "I told him that I hope we would do [Rafah] with US support but if necessary – we will do it alone."
Promise? Because that sounds like a good step.
The US upholding its nominal commitment to international justice and hauling the appropriate leaders to The Hague sounds better, but Israel doing it alone if atrocity is this big a core value for them sounds like, at least, a step in the right direction.
Where is the Arab League to step up and help form a technocratic government? The strip will be demilitarized, the Israelis can't be the ones doing that security though so where is Saudi or UAE et al helping out their brothers?
Bibi needs to go. Israelis want a two state, the bigoted assholes running the place are the problem. The issue was worked out before he had his grip, it's a shame it couldn't have been met with openness by the Arabs at that time. Timing is everything, getting these groups synched is nearly impossible.
