I mean, how do we know the sister is an idiot? Posting bond for a family member is understandable. Unless they're violent or dangerous, and frankly, this sovcit doesn't seem like that. A fool, and suckered in by some real hucksters who are hawking him a product that will hurt him, but not a danger.

However, I feel that we are speaking of two different meanings of the word here, and my meaning of the word danger is much different in regards to whether or not someone should be bonded out.
It could be an accident. I got pulled over because I was just cruising around the loop in my town on a Friday with my cruise control set at the speed limit.
At the time, my college didn't have school on Fridays, so as I passed the school I asked myself, "why are there so many cars when there's no school?" Then I saw the lights.
I still maintain that the school zone lights came on after I entered the zone since the school busses weren't even lined up yet, but I was driving at a safe speed for the road itself.
The cop thought so too, since I only got a ticket for 55 in a 35 instead of in a school zone.

Can't give someone a ticket when they refuse to give you their name and DOB. Know your rights, and hold the police accountable, but if you intentionally antagonize and resist the police when they make a very basic and very legal request, you're immediately on the hook for more charges.

Right. In this case, it might not have worked. But my point was that the statement that you can't give someone a ticket without first getting their personal info is incorrect.
A moving violation and a parking ticket are totally different things. A speeding ticket is a criminal offense while a parking ticket (with rare exception) is a civil offense. The police absolutely cannot issue a speeding ticket without ascertaining your identity, and if you refuse to identify yourself, you will end up in jail while they work it out.
Let him keep driving with a fake license plate? At minimum the car should be towed.
