No they actually fight. Most of these women have videos of being in combat and some have died. The idea that pretty women are only in uniform as a PR thing needs to die in a fire.
Doesn't mean she wasn't chosen by PR for her appearance. Still can be a capable soldier.

Both can exist, you're probably more likely to see the PR ladies online since their military will be pushing their visibility
