Two men who imperil the lives of queer people on a daily basis would hate to be seen as gay. It’s their biggest fear, so it’s funny to pretend they are gay to annoy them. Genius. Whichever way you spin it, the result is the same: homophobia. The “joke” only works if being a member of the queer community is regarded as “inferior” or “less than” – even if that’s supposed to reflect the view of the butt of said joke. I haven't looked into it at all, but that just seems so strange. Who would pay that when the original Bitwarden app is still there for free? Most people who would even know about KeyGuard would know how to install it from somewhere else. Is it essentially a donation?
Ah, yeah, I installed it from their github with obtainium. I think open source/libre app that charges people to install with the play store is a model a few others have tried as well.
This need not be the case, though! There's an open source client on Android called Keyguard. I don't think the desktop app was at all useful anyway. You can just log into your Vaultwarden through any browser. The desktop app is pointless.
I have some! I use a self hosted vaultwarden and just two days ago I saw and installed KeyGuard out of curiosity. So far, I can say KeyGuard is a nicer looking and feeling app and... it works. So as long as their intentions are pure, you can use "bitwarden" without using any of their software or infrastructure.
If "your" phone belongs to your employer that's the choice you made. It isn't yours.

Remote Moderator actions still do not seem to work after upgrading to 0.18.5
I was made moderator of the /c/TrueAnon on the lemmy.ml instance a while ago, and none of my actions have ever federated to lemmy.ml, so I gave up. Thought I'd try again after this upgrade and still no dice. The response I'm getting back from the API when I try to add my lemmy.ml account to moderator status is "not_a_moderator." Is this a transient federation issue or are there more fixes required for this scenario to work correctly?
