In Denmark you get two options, you can buy an unlocked phone with cash. Or purchase a subscription with it, and the provider gives you some incentive for it. The subscription is locked for 6 months which is the max by law.
If I buy a phone with the subscription, the discount means you would usually pay 80% of the phones value.
That locks you to a subscription for 6 months that is usually more expensive than the other offers out there, but the difference doesn't make up for the reduced price of the phone over the 6 month period.
So you are actually saving money, as long as you remember to switch to a cheaper subscription after the 6 months pass. The telecom of course hopes you don't, and that's their incentive for taking a hit on profit in the short term. It buys them marketshare.
Yes exactly my point, there are other reasons to sit on Apple, but their phones hardware is pretty good quality. I'll throw in long software support as well.
You got the Fairphone as an option though, also within the capitalistic system.
As much as like to shit on Apple for many other reasons, they've had fairly few mishaps with their phones. Even counting bending phones, "you're holding it wrong" etc., their track record is still decent compared to the competition.
She definitely has a few agents from the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET) around her at all times. They are most often dressed in civilian clothing, but you can see the earpiece, they use to communicate.
As a person from Denmark; I'm fine thanks.
They are more than Shell to lower carbon emissions?
Except I can run other stuff that is not provided through addons. But granted; most use cases are covered with addons.
Extremely popular in urban areas in Denmark.
An electric cargo bike has replaced our car in our family of 2 adults and 2 small kids.
But it's a good idea to bring the battery inside with you in the winter.
Since I have become a parent I can't stand to read things like this.
How anyone can be this cruel, is beyond me.
I assume they said it was due to other reasons than obscurity, although we know better.
Infuse is the answer, but I hope someday that the regular clients can compete.
We don't need more models, improve on the Open Source ones we already have.
We need better hardware with long ranging microphones that can isolate the voice.
I'm still waiting for something I can put in my rooms, I can even make use of my Sonos speakers for audio output, so it's really just the microphone.
That's a fringe scenario. Try imagining something that would happen on a more daily basis.
Still a 60% weight increase to a VW Up! A car much better suited for living in a European metropol.
Thing is Skyrim wasn't particularly handcrafted or lively either, the models for things like dungeons were repeated all the time and the NPC liveliness was lacklustre compared to eurojank games like Gothic.
Brazil ≠ Argentina
I'm sure that songs that tend to become popular are probably promoted first. And I think we agree that you can always do more work to showcase lesser known artists.
But with that said, it has never been easier to get your music published. And any idiot can make their music globally available. Which is a win for smaller artists.
And the songs that Spotify put in my Discover Weekly list, often has less than 10.000 plays. So in that regard their algorithm work in the unknown artists favour.
Depends doesn’t it? If I make a song that is listened to zero times, I wouldn’t expect to get a payout that equals Spotify subscriber income split by amount of songs. Disregarding the popularity.
The entertainment business, is a one-to-many business and money follows whomever sits at the top of the pyramid. And it was the exactly the same before the streaming era.
This is exactly the kind of input I was looking for, thank you!
Suggestions to new networking gear
Hi, and sorry in advance if this is the wrong community to post this. But I seek some advice on how I can upgrade my home networking setup that also connects my selfhosted services.
I have posted a shitty Visio that visualized my current setup, but just to describe it in some words.
I use an aging Amplifi HD router and access point, that is connected through wireless to a mesh point.
It works, but I am aware how much of the throughput disappears when connecting through the meshpoint. And I would also like to utilize newer technologies like Wifi 6 (i already have devices that support this standard) or even 6E.
So I thought about switching the router to a dedicated one without a wireless access point, and then wire an access point to provide wireless access.
While I was at it, it could be interesting going from gigabit to 2.5 for the wired devices. One of the homelabs could be modified to utilize it. Or at least just gain the possibility in a future upgrade, by getting a router that supports it while I am at it.
My question is, what would you suggest I upgraded with? I'm open for OpenWRT or PFsense/OPNsense, and keeping things modular.
Edit: and I am located within the EU, if it has any bearing on what devices are available without crazy import duties.
