Steam Discussion deleted after questioning the "EULA" of Stormgate

I just wanted to use my voice to let everyone know about this since it seems to be something they want to Streisand effect. I made a discussion on the stormgate steam page about how their EULA has a bad link to their privacy policy and asked why the information listed in the policy is being collected. It had to go through the review process since it contained links and then after being posted was deleted from my history after an hour (I guess when someone actually laid eyes on it)

For the full details I already made a post in the privacy community asking if this was a common occurrence. I'm attempting to reach out through other avenues for some type of explanation but just getting crickets or brick walls. Please use caution and common sense when downloading and consenting to agreements from game companies.

The highlights if you don't feel like clicking the link:

Ability to view new releases by date (not "New & Trending" and news/update subscription for non-owned games

Q1. A few years ago, steam allowed you to sort tag-based releases (e.g. MMORPG) by release date.

But recently they moved to different model. Consider the MMORPG page:

https://store.steampowered.com/tags/en/MMORPG/

Now you only have "New & Trending" which does not sort by date:

!

Q2. Any given steam store page has an option called "View update history":

!

This data is also provided in your library in the top "What's New" banner:

!

But this is only for games that you own.

Is there a way to "subscribe" to the update feeds of a set of games; doesn't have to be through steam. An external tools/website would work too.

Cheers!

Can steam link run with guest aspect ratio / resolution

I want to access my pc / steamdeck from laptop. All 3 devices have different aspect ratio screens. Is there a way to use steam link with guest (laptop in this case) aspect ratio? Or is there any other solution than steam link?

[EDIT]: I don't game as much, I'm mostly accessing PC / deck (in desktop mode) from laptop. When I'm playing game I generally use actual device.

[EDIT2]: Decided to go with sunshine - moonlight, seems to do everything I was looking for.

💲 Steam Winter Sale Deals and Recommendation! 💲

  • Old and hidden games that deserve more love

Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages, story that get better as you play, insane amount of ship/play style customization.

Masquerada: Songs and Shadows, good lore and excellent world building, "easy" and forgiving crpg.

Wirewalk()↳, a short and loving gameboy like rpg, less than 100 reviews.

  • Well known

Mass Effect™ Legendary Edition, no comments need, new historic low

Psychonauts 2, good game although it's "cheaper" on gamepass.

Steam NEXT Fest: Demo Recommendation!

Have you played any of the demos? If so, leave your recommendation.

Go Mecha Ball and Cobalt Core picked my interest the most, also liked Crime Scene Cleaner (love Viscera Cleanup Detail) but reading discussions it seems to be a "fake" game.

Steam Families is here
  • If you’re using an M-series Mac, download the Windows Steam installer and Whisky. Install Steam through Whisky then simply install games through Steam as normal.

There’s a bit of a learning curve, but /r/MacGaming on Reddit is a useful resource.

There are some that simply won’t work because the hardware won’t run them (Red Dead 2 is the most disappointing one for me), but have a play and see what works.

  • Steam Families is here
  • Unless I've misunderstood; that's exactly why I asked the question in my original comment. I'll explain my / the reasoning:

I own a game on a Steam account (A) and want to hack (and evade bans) using another Steam account (B).

I share my library/game from account (A) to account (B) then hack on account B and only account B gets banned... What's to then stop me from making Steam account C, D, E, F... etc? Absolutely nothing. Hence the double ban.

I stress that if you do share a game / your Steam library with others you trust them explicitly.

  • Steam hits 37 million concurrent users today
  • I was also using it then and most people hated it at the time. People generally saw it as useless DRM they had to install to play the games they had already paid for. The biggest complaint was needing to install it and register Counter-Strike to get the 1.6 update.

    This gif comes to mind:

  • What are some old or new Steam alternatives to StarCraft 1 & 2?
  • Early access is almost/already over? The full unlock is on the 30th, I assume. I dunno if all the streamers showing it were on pre-early release or not.

  • Steam users have spent $19 billion on games they’ve never played
  • Okay. That’s an interesting statistic.

Even if we take this number at face value, this is over a 20 year period, and worldwide.

Americans waste more than $408 billion each year on food, with dairy products being the food item we toss out the most. The average American family of four throws out $1,600 a year in produce.

  • What do you think of this prediction?
  • Well, KDE Clipboard seems to make it easy enough for me for now, but perhaps I will set a compose key for it if required.

My main problem tends to be forgetting to add it because I got too emersed in typing the comment.

And it's kinda useless to add it after the fact, so most of the time, it works because I copy the license first.

    CC BY-NC-SA

  • Banana
  • One of the devs had his steam name set to "Abschieben schafft Wohnraum" which translates to "Deportation creates living space". He has now hidden previous names and claimed that this was to troll, but he still has Trump and Putin as his background so I don't think that I am going to believe that.

  • What do you think of this prediction?
  • What's the problem with some laughter.

If there's nothing to laugh at, people usually pick a loner, harass them until they are angry/miserable and then laugh at them.

I'd rather, they laugh at this, which might also throw a wrench in the works of companies trying to get data without sifting through it properly.

    Anti Commercial-AI license

Wouldn't it be even more fun if the AI chatbot got trained on this and started spewing out Anti Commercial-AI license in their results?
