You are not stripping spaces at the end of login names in your app (sorry to ping you here but saw your reply and it reminded me to ask)
I couldn't get logged in to connect, or liftoff, then noticed I had a space (From selecting the suggestion on my phone). Didn't catch it until just now trying to login to liftoff. I've seen a couple complaints about getting logged into these apps. Wonder if I'm not alone with the extra space.
This is how I have it in boost, comment controls (vote, reply etc) hidden by default, simple tap to show/hide those controls, long tap to collapse comments.
Last update (v0.0.36) broke lemmy.world log in due to LW stuck rn in Lemmy v0.17 (instance owner said it didn't support 2FA yet, so he'll wait for it being supported in future lemmy updates)
The link works for me, but for some reason I can't find it when I search for it in the Play Store? I tried "liftoff", "liftoff!" and "liftoff Lemmy"...
This is a pretty nice app! I especially like that it shows me content from multiple Lemmy instances, without my home instance needing to federate with them!
I have some feedback, though: when I see content from lemmy.ml, the app should use my lemmy.world account to vote and comment, as if I were viewing that instance through lemmy.world. It really defeats the purpose of federation if I can't use the same account, after all.
The app looks great but I am finding that I am unable to participate in discussions on instances that I am not logged in on. Am I doing something wrong?
Check the feed dropdown at the top of the page. If you're using [email protected] you should be able to interact with everything you see. Using the everything feed or any other instance feed may well show you stuff you can't interact with.
I love it so far, thanks for your hard work making the migration from Reddit easier.
One question, Im trying to send my friend a link to am article a post is looking to. The share button exports the lemmy link and not the actual article. If i click open in browser, it opens the federated instance hosting the article (kbin in this case) and not my browser, so i still have no way to copy the link right to the article. Any ideas.
Signing in to first account only let me use email not username (lemmy.world) second account attempt to add (beehaw) produced an error. Android, Google pixel 6 pro. Didn't really want to post here in your launch post but couldn't find a place to enter bugs.
I thought All meant that, while Local meant your instance only and Subscribed is whatever you are subscribed to.
Also, this seems to lead to some issues interacting with other instances overall. I can't subscribe to an instance while looking at everything, even tho it is federated to mine.
I can see why the devs did it this way
Maybe organization and all? But is it not defeating the purpose of the Fediverse?
Might want to have the app autoselect some form of instance/community. I watched the loading circle for a minute before I started clicking around and selected communities to see it did in fact work.
Ohh now we're talking. Have tried some of the different apps avalible for Android but this one feels like it, really like the ui.
It crash for me when I try to read posts with alot of comments (yes I'm really trying to read that poop-post) Using a old phone with a older os so very likely that's why it's not working. Anyone experiencing the same? Or is really time for me to get a new phone?
Not a pixel but I notice this as well and seems to only happen when scrolling comments. Connect for lemmy was way worse about this and would get laggier until completely locking up. Infact none of the apps I've tried feel smooth when scrolling comments. Regardless...I think I like this app the best so far.
i receive content from kbin.social in my Liftoff feed. it is federated thru lemmy.ml and when i try to open the kbin instance directly, the app displays the kbin page code.
so, somehow somewhere the kbin data is being parsed correctly, but Liftoff itself is not able to perform the task.
If you're selecting a suggestion from your keyboard of your username, see if it's putting in a space. Just realized this is happening to me. I couldn't get logged into connect the other day so I uninstalled it. Just tried again and saw the space added. Removed and got signed in
Installed this, liking it so far.
Gotta get used to this UI over Jerboa's.
Edit- I can only browse communities within the three default instances added.
Will I have to added each instance if I want to join any communities within them ?
