I'm coming in from Texas for a few days around the 4th of July. What are some of the best 4th of July events and other things to do in the heat of the summer for me and my kids (5 and 7)?

Our weather is hotter and more humid so not too worried about the heat, but looking for some good indoor activities to escape the hottest part of the day.

Was looking at mountain biking in morning or evening one day, floating the river, and on the 4th doing Ann Morrison park fireworks show. Any tips related to any of those or other must do's for a Boise 4th of July?
