Behind another beatific white "influencer" mom was an alleged hellscape of child abuse
Christian communities are infested with pedos because they protect them. When the victims speak up they circle the wagons and silence the accuser. Then they wag they fatty hypocritical fingers at queer folk who are just trying to exist as citizens of this country.
It's because it's never about religious values, it's about power. The power to force your values on others but push back on other people's values applying to you. The power to be just that extra bit above the law. The power to claim tax exemptions while sitting in piles of wealth. The power to abuse children and get away with it.
Ruby Franke's is just the latest in a long line of stories that illustrate the gap between the image the Christian right likes to portray and the ugly reality just under the surface.

Republicans are so hostile to laws protecting the safety and well-being of children that they've even blocked the U.S. from ratifying the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, making ours the only nation in the world that doesn't recognize the human rights of children.
We should probably do something about republicans.
It's not like the red flags weren't there. The Frankes made a big deal out of being strict disciplinarians on their channel, which led to describing punishments of children. A 15-year-old, for instance, was deprived of a bed for 7 months, after he played a prank on a younger brother. Franke defended herself by calling a bedroom a "privilege." She also described being able to eat as a "privilege" that children should expect to lose for misbehavior. She filmed multiple videos recalling times when she withheld food to punish children.
Fuck these people. I feel sorry for those poor kids.
From my experience the more someone identifies as Christian the more hate and intolerance is in their heart.
The christian bible is pretty clear about how you should pray. In the closet, where no one but your god can see you.

I believe the same. I stopped going to church at age 15 after seeing how hypocritical everyone was vs what they preached. It's really horrifying how much people just assume these are good people because of tradition.
Religion is child abuse. No surprise there'd be more. They're already in the business. It's on the package. That's what they're selling.
They take young inquisitive minds and teach them to be subject and secondary to archaic bullshit and propaganda as early as they can listen, teaching them they deserve abuse and can't trust their senses and intuitions and sense of self. It's fucking disgusting.
Even the best pieces of religion are just a table setting, training to lay down a lifetime of torment and failure. A means to take away any agency and decency and accomplishment an individual might have, so they can be appropriated and misused by greedy lying abusive fucks in supposed positions of power, people we're supposed to respect.Religion has no place in society. It is a perversion and a derangement of the natural sense in decent individuals that there should be goodness between people and that we should improve ourselves and our environment in a meaningful way. It is absolutely designed to debase human's faith in ourselves and has only survived because successful religions piggyback on the worst parts of vestigial tribal instincts, outlets for which have otherwise been mostly removed from modern life.
