With the help of a friend who re-did my resume, and their insistence. I've applied for my dream job whose applications closed today. I wouldn't have done it without their help. Thank you friend.
I'm not quite as morose after a good night's sleep and a good breakfast. My ears are still not popped though. Tried the Valsalva manoeuvre, swallowing water, sucking on a lolly and using steam but no dice...
E: the cat has trapped me so I guess I'll just be stuck here for a while.
I have decided that what I really want to eat right now is a parmigana lasagne. Layers of chicken schnitzel, with tomato sauce, ham and cheese between them, topped with bechemal sauce, sprinkled with cheese and baked until golden. Obviously to be served with lots of perfectly hot and crispy chips.
Had a first date with a really lovely girl this weekend.
We both had fun and she made sure to tell me so and spoke about catching up again in the future a few times.
I waited a day to ask if she wanted to hang out next weekend and she says that she’s super busy that weekend, sorry. No suggestion of when she might be free or anything.
Am I reading too much into it thinking maybe she’s not interested? I just took what she said at face value and went with it but part of me wonders if she’s just not interested but wants to be polite.
Any suggestions? I don’t want to come across as needy or anything like that.
You’d think if she was interested she would suggest another time.
Bit weird because we’ve been talking a bunch both before and after but I haven’t really said much other than suggesting we play a game we both like and she kinda brushed that off too saying she was hungover.
I guess we just keep talking organically and if a second date happens it happens.
Alternatively I could be more direct with her say tomorrow when she’s not hungover and see what she says.
I do like the idea of being direct about it all. We’re grown ups after all.
EDIT: As fullkit and yourself have suggested I’ll just let things roll and not read into it at all for now. See where the conversation moves to next and see if she suggests anything!
weight loss is slowly but surely happening, further, if I stop all consumption of bad sugars like sorbitol I'll probably deflate like a balloon 💨 😂 which means my jeans will fit better 👍
Yay go for it! Watch out for other hidden sugars in foods too, like tomato sauce, yoghurt, pasta sauces, salad dressing and bread. Things I like, dammit!
Apparently it's not that much of a PITA if your hair is neat and your walls are perfectly white. I did use a passport app, but going with an Australian passport size it just kept whinging about it not being large enough, so I went with a Singapore sized passport photo because apparently they like really large passport photos if you apply online. Anywho after it tantrummed a few more times about croppings and what not, I finally made it work. And after 5 hours of effort, they approved it in all of 5 minutes
One lorikeet in the tree was chasing another lorikeet and making dancing wing flaps and trying to hop on the other lorikeets back. Spring is in the air.
"Hot" I say, convictionless, to my reflection
That I'm winning the battle against self-rejection.
This body's not mine, it's just plain and average.
I'm just a mind, soaked in alcoholic beverage.
From between my seams, loose threads, and stuffing
Spills free my dreams, force smiles, I'm only bluffing.
The Sunday Blues have got me down hard and fast,
Another coffee should help this anxiety last.
I have really awful mustard and tomato sauce it'll be sprinkled with dried shallots and maybe adorned with jarlsberg. Probably going to put some tomato in too (proper tomato) it's half used and staring at me.
e: really good hot dog. Little crunchy onion things are now a thing.
Toxicity usually occurs from use in herbal remedies. Symptoms can be delayed days to weeks after ingestion and may include acute liver disease and gastroenteritis; enlarged liver and spleen, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea
It did work to some degree but I still had to scrub bits off with a plastic spoon. I did actually take it outside to soak.
The second one I have is soaking in hot water with a cup of washing powder which is what I normally do but I'm leaving it overnight which I have never done. As ugly as it might look I'll be foiling them.
There wasn’t enough room to space them out properly and I kept losing where I put individual seeds after patting them in so I gave up and kind of randomly sprinkled. I can thin them later. Though I hate doing it.
Right now I’m kind of just getting things done sloppily and rushed or they won’t be done at all
I'm cooking for 17 people in a weeks's time (!).. SIL's fam bam is coming over for bro's and wife's wedding I just heard this today. I don't have a commercial kitchen.
Rent a big fridge for a week. Hot pot is an option. Maybe two or three hotpots with different flavour profiles. Or a bbq (immersion in Aussie culture). Satay sticks or similar. Party pies and potat caks! Anything that can be prepped ahead of time.
Borrow a few slow cookers? Easy to do a 2.5 - 3 kg chunk of pork in each of them, do some amazing pulled pork creation at the other end of it. Don't need a special kitchen or any magic catering considerations.
You can likely do lamb/beef just as easily, but pork is my go-to for crowd cooking.
The cling film bit works on ovens too. Only thing I would say is that if the enamel of the stove is cracked or chipped, then ammonia will make a bad situation worse.
My stove top is glass with the enamel coated metal (that's what I think they are) drip trays. That kitchen would have reeked of ammonia. Very powerful shit.
Ugh, I think I actually do have a cold, not just my ear refusing to pop. Maybe that's why the cat's been sitting on me literally almost all day.
Got around to watching Barbie. I laughed, I cried, I sat in thought. I don't care that it was anvilicious, it was a great bit of fun. The musical sequences were a lot better than I expected. But I really don't think Ryan Gosling looked the part, it was very distracting...
Don't know what I have, but I was on the mend then it came back with a vengeance. Looking like I'll miss more work over it. Sucks, I already have two teams of developers waiting for me to finish last week's backlog.
God trying to get a working with children's check is an absolute PITA. I spent about 40 minutes last night trying to get a "passport quality photo" and couldn't get it to work. I even tried my actual passport photo I got taken at the post office and apparently my face is too close because my hair was ever so slightly messy and a couple of strands went a little bit over the edge of the frame (thanks auspost lady for cropping it down...)
Wwdits before commencing landscaping. Cloak of duplication, top tier ep. Kayvan novak knocks it out of the park impersonating his costars and Nadja comes in at the end with a big steel chair to steal the show.
"Has living in America made you into a big wet pussy?"
If I ordered 6 Schnitz parmigana meals delivered to work, stacked them to create my parmigana lasagna dish and ate them at my desk do you think anyone would say anything? I would have enough chips I could share a couple of those with my co workers, that should settle down any complaints, right?
Let it set and make slices? But the plan is to create a ludicrously tall pile of cheese and sauce covered parmigana and gorge myself immediatedly on it in its entirety. I was willing to forgoe the cheese sauce topping to make said gorging faster, extra waiting seems counter productive.
Side question but is the Schnitz Parma alright? Minipeelers only eat the plain schnitzel and chips.. every single time we eat there (it's their fave place at the moment). I've been working my way through the salads and wraps but eyeing off the Parma. We were there again today 😂
Mask making is moving forward slowly but surely. All components obtained, patterns made, pieces are being cut. To make 1 mask I cut 6 pieces of fabric!
I've been dashing around doing laundry, and tidying (not that the place looks that much better for it!) Then decided we needed to go shopping so the Minipeelers decided we were going to Broady. (They had Schnitz and other treats on their minds I think). I wanted to try the Choice rated Aldi laundry powder (it was actually very good, I did another load of washing when I came home) and dishwasher tablets (haven't tried them yet). We also did Schnitz, Kmart (Eldest needed shorts for school), Coles (Miniest likes a cheese that is only sold there, the Great Ocean Road Extra Tasty, and parbake mini croissants are also her lunchbox addiction), EB Games (Eldest wanted to give Skyrim a go). I've walked for hours, then got home and remembered I hadn't done my exercises today, so I did those. Miniest wanted to make guacamole (to go with the baguette she also wanted because she rarely meets a bread she doesn't like) so we did that. Now I'm resting before sorting dinner out. I tell ya, I don't feel like cooking that's for sure, but it'll be sausages so nice and simple.
I fry them in my cast iron pan because I like standing there and slowly turning them while my brain does something else. It's a bit like meditation for me in a way.
For anyone with a music streaming service I guess, I would highly recommend an artist radio based on a woman called Honi Gordon. She has (had most likely) some amazing pipes, and the algorithm works afterwards for a very classy whimsy evening.
