someone made a demo for the Commodore PET of all things
this is a computer that’s almost entirely without graphical capabilities, so here’s a demo featuring animations and sound someone did last year
let me know if a big NotAwfulTech thread for demos would be fun and I’ll start one, since the demoscene is almost always not awful by definition

5 0 ReplyDoes Lemmy bump threads regardless of age? If yes, +1 to a Demoscene megathread.
5 0 Replyhuh, that’s a good question. from https://join-lemmy.org/docs/contributors/07-ranking-algo.html it looks like it should bump it, but I haven’t been seeing that behavior in my UI (which I usually just perch on the default front page)

Neat! It looks incredible and better on the actual hardware than on the emulator! (there's a link in the video description to it running on emulator)
5 0 Replythe way they use the real hardware’s cathode fade in the animations is awesome!

I did the first year of my O Level computer studies on one of these, they got rid of them in the summer holidays and we then had to do 2 years work in 1 year on BBC Micro.
