My garage door is stuck in the halfway position and off track. I had to barricade a bunch of stuff against the gap to block entry and will need to call a pro out to get this sorted. Pretty moan worthy imo

I posted this on the Wednesday Whinge thread yesterday but it still very much applies so I'm going to moan about it again.
I slipped a disc in my spine a couple of weeks ago and my mobility is still limited and the pain is still bad. Our downstairs neighbour doesn’t seem to understand the concept of doorstops and instead he just slams his doors all day over and over again, maybe he’s pissed off at me because I stomped on the floor when he was playing loud music at midnight. On top of that there’s the bloke next door who has one of the most vile sounding smokers coughs I’ve ever heard, gets up for work at 4am and sounds like he’s wretching, lovely to be woken up by that. Plus the whole building constantly stinks of weed from another downstairs neighbour. Oh and we’re on the top floor so it’s been a million degrees. Urgh I can’t wait to not live in a block of flats anymore…but oh wait mortgage rates are fucked so no house for us yet - if ever.
Fwiw, I think these whinge / moan threads really help. I hate this archaic idea that we should just deal with everything and never talk about it. Moaning about shit is healthy, it gives you a small outlet so that you can keep functioning.
Getting things off your chest is a good idea. It brings the mood down sometimes if every thread is a moan, so having a dedicated thread to offload keeps it in one place.

I hope you can get a good heating pad. My back is all messed up, 10+ discs blown, and besides meds my heating pad is a massive help. I’ve found the adjustable ones with timers are a big help.

Thank you for the advice! I’m so sorry that you have so much trouble with your back, that must be awful. I would definitely use a heating pad if I wasn’t already insufferably hot, lol. If the pain sticks around long-term I will be sure to try it. Main issue at the moment is sciatica.
Yes thankfully I have some Loop earbuds for sleeping, they have been invaluable. I tend to pull them out in a half-asleep state though! I’m sure I will get used to them :)
Youngest wean is sorely testing my patience at the moment. Can't say anything to him about his behaviour or he goes off on one with this sense of entitlement.
He got it from me this morning for snapping at me when told to get his shoes on to leave. Speaking to him on way to school about the way he speaks to me is apparently just me "keep bringing it up" and again talking to me like a piece of shit as if I'm one of his daft wee school pals. He got marched back up the road and given a bollocking.
Tell him off or lecture him and he's like a mini Karen condensed into the body of a 12 year old with the way he goes off on one. I suspect it's these stupid wee youtuber pricks so he's lost youtube privileges and took the PS out his room. He's the youngest of 6 and I've never been spoken to by any of the other weans the way he does sometimes. Wee dobber!
My partner has a 10 year old girl. And they are apparently getting moody as fuck in that age. Sometimes just existing close by is an affront🤣

- Forgot to take my antihistamine last night so woke up a mess. I'll be fine when it kicks in but right now, hmph!
- Apparently Walkers have come out with a Wotsit flavour crisp, which sounds like it could be great, but it's limited time only so what's even the point in trying them because even if they're nice they'll get taken away.
- Got invited to something fun and I really do want to go but it's a 3-leg, 3.5 hour public transport journey each way and my tolerance for that kind of thing is much lower now I'm getting old.
- Ordered some blackout curtain liners to help other half stop waking up at 5am, but I picked the wrong ones and now have to faff about sending them back.
- There's some kind of work going on in the street outside (after two weeks of them setting up some fences around it and just disappearing) and the noise makes me want to chop my own head off.
First world problems I know, but they add up!

It's been a lovely sunny day here in rural Scotland. I'd really like to be sitting out on the deck now with a glass of chilled wine. Unfortunately, one of the local farmers has decided to spray his field with manure (or something equally fragrant), so I'm sitting inside with all the windows closed.
Had today booked off work for no reason in particular so I thought it would be good idea to have a "few" pints in the pub last night, it wasn't a good idea and I've spent all day feeling like shit and wasted the day off

Just received a letter this morning with the schedule of engineering works on the railway out the back. Every Saturday night in July plus the first one in August. 11pm - 6am. As if I'm not already going to be run ragged with the kids off. I mean, I understand why and don't have any fundamental objections. And being so close to a station is a big positive. But still. Urgh.
I feel this and empathise with you, we're right near a railway line too. Living so close to a station would be a benefit, if the tains were ever running, lol.

Just sneaking in at 11 mins to midnight. I got a train up to Newcastle today; due to some dickheads trespassing on the lines (apparently at Southampton), it affected the trains all the way up the country. Was supposed to arrive at half 5, ended up arriving after 8. Boooooo, UK trains, boooo.
Mother in law has come round to help out with the gardening. However, our bin collectors were on strike last week and the garden waste bin is still full to the brim, so I'm not sure what's happening with today's cuttings.
I'm pretty sure she's going to sign me up for a trip to the recycling centre on Saturday morning. Urgh.

The rain seems to be helping down south. Have you tried fexofenadine, they're the only antihistamine that works for me now?
Depending on your symptoms I’ve found saline nasal spray works well - I avoid the stuff with steroids in personally. As well as Boots own brand hayfever eye drops. As for antihistamines nothing seems to work very well. I tend to stick with taking a Piriton tablet (Chlorphenamine) at night because they are sedating so at least I get some sleep.

When I lived in the UK I had a wasp nest in the loft. I called the council for advice. A man in a space suit with a sprayer was there within the hour. No charge.
I have a presentation on Monday, and I've had a month to prepare for it, but I'm not ready. I'm gonna try to get it done tomorrow, but I know full well that I'll be working on it over the weekend. :( (yeah, I'm super ADHD-i)
Also, work in general is just awful. I'm so sick of giving away so much of my life and not getting to spend quality time with those I care about.

Bloody forgot to put a pound coin in my purse, I get to the trolleys at Tesco's and I need to put a pound coin in but I pay with my phone and only have notes on me and nobody else has change.
Bout time we upgraded and didn't need to rely on coin slots! or how about we get more machines so I can get change out? Nobody has cash anymore! I just want to get a trolley out I've done in my shoulder sleeping...
I mean I could get one of those small trolley coins, like always I have procrastinated and so I'm here opting to moan about it instead like any good brit!
As someone who doesn't really use cash, they bloody infuriate me. I keep buying tokens and then the crappy trolleys keep eating them. Bastards.

My water bottle has a air leak in the cap somewhere, and I keep getting a mouthful of air when drinking. Now I have a headache.
I leaked through my pad last night and found myself dabbing bedsheets with hydrogen peroxide at 5.30am. FML
I've had a parcel stuck at some RM collection centre for two weeks now. Yesterday they finally moved it to one of the local offices but now want a fee paid because apparently the sender didn't pay enough postage. They said they'd paid online but need some number off a card that I should have received to inform me of outstanding fees. Never received that card.
To get to the RM office thing I'll have to walk for about an hour on Saturday. I can't even ask them if it's definitely there because they never answer their fucking phone
