Cisbi male here, a large chunk of conservatism is about externalizing your views. When I still used to be conservative, but started to actually take the whole "I don't care who you are" part more seriously, I got booed at and written off as a "communist liberal".

The problem is you're posting an unrealistic scenario and made it sound like it really happened.
Obligatory "I'm a cis man" but this scenario is most of my extended family right now, with the lucky exceptions of my parents, siblings, and grandparents. I'm pretty sure they've all said this exact line multiple times.
Don't bother arguing with the trumpies facts and logic have no effect on them.
