They usually come in the afternoon, but I like to put it out the night before so I don't forget. One house has their recycling out, but I'm pretty sure that's next week.
Ours comes early but I think they do a second sweep in the afternoon. The holidays and January were heck on the scheduling though, because I forgot to check I either missed it completely or they sat out there for two days.
when i hear the word recycling now, knowing it's all a scam to make the individual thing they're responsible, and can make profound change, just simply makes me sad
If it makes you feel any better they do sort out the valuable steel and aluminum. You can also reduce and reuse what you have. I often sell things online and most of the time I reuse cardboard boxes and bubble mailers. I just use the heating element on my kitchen vacuum sealer to melt the end back together.
none of it makes me feel better now that i know it isn't a drop in a bucket in an ocean, it's a ploy by manufacturers to make the public believe recycling moves the needle enough to not build political momentum to force them to change their practices in procuding all this fucking unrecyclable junk in the first place. it's actually doin the opposite of helping, it's cosigning the continued production practices in the first place. hard to get people to understand this after we've astroturfed with "recycle recycle recyle" for the last 50 years, and everybody's got those neat bins they put out ever week.
My driver goes to the opposite side of my street first and then circles back. If I forgot to put the trash out I can hurry and do it before he males it to mine.
Ours normally come around 7ish, so they go out the night before. In the summer, I don't mind putting them out in the morning, though. The sun rises earlier.
